I'm opening three simultaneous polls in order to choose those songs that are likely to be in each personal Top 20 Beatles songs list. The pre-selection of songs corresponds to the resulting tracklist from a previous poll series for the creation of a Beatles compilation. The objective is to obtain a list including the 20 most voted songs from the three polls. The polls will be open for 1 week. NOTE: You don't need to choose a total amount of 20 songs from the polls, since some of your actual Top 20 Beatles songs may not be present in the lists. The other two polls: POLL: Top 20 Beatles songs (2/3) POLL: Top 20 Beatles songs (3/3)
No Reply. Pun intended. I have no idea what my top 20 might be as I would be just talking out of my you know what. Besides that data will not enrich my enjoyment of the art behind the songs. It may, however, do the opposite.
A lot of my early favorites are missing. Off the top of my head "There's A Place", "Not a Second Time", "All I've Got to Do", "I Don't Want to Spoil The Party", "I'll Be Back", I'm sure there are a few more. Went with "Please Please Me", "She Loves You", "All My Loving", "I've Just Seen a Face" and "Ticket to Ride"
A hard day's night Eight Days A Week Help! That is all. I like some others, but I don't think they are in my top 20.
I like the early Beatles but none of these would make my top 20 Closest would be "A hard days night" "Things we said today" "You've got to hide your love away" and "I've just seen a face"
it won't be long all my loving and i love her i feel fine i'm a loser ticket to ride help! you've got to hide your love away
Please Please Me A Hard Day's Night I Should Have Known Better If I Fell And I Love Her No Reply Help! I probably have to restrain myself in order not to go above 20, over what I presume will be three separate polls. Even at that, I Saw Her Standing There, She Loves You, and Things We Said Today are very close, top 30 or perhaps 40. On the other hand, And I Love Her, No Reply, and Help might be in that group too, but I voted for them. I'll correct it later if I consider it necessary ...
Yeah, this is just a tentative exercise. People may choose less 20 songs because many favorites might be out of these lists; or even more than 20 songs if they are not very sure in some cases. The idea is to get a colective Top 20 list from these three polls.
Few of these early Beatles songs seem to be in most Top 20 lists. Only "Ticket To Ride" is getting more than 50% votes so far.
All of my top 20 candidates, by a comfortable margin, are in the other two polls. From this one I'd only include You've Got To Hide Your Love Away and I've Just Seen A Face, and those would be long shots for top 20 status but might get there sometimes depending on my mood.
