The Tangent never disappoint this one is no exception. There is a bit more of a groove with this album. Theo Travis is wonderfully prominent thus far (I'm into side II at this time). This orange vinyl pressing is amazing and the guitar of Luke Machin shimmers and shudders while Jonas Reingold (The Flower Kings) holds down the bottom end with unpretentious skill as per usual. Now enjoying the epics that are spread over sides B through D. Maybe some prog fan out there will be encouraged to give this a try.

But the first song sounded like ELO to my ears. And the next one sounded like REO Speedwagon. And the next one sounded like the band Europe. And the vocals were good, with lots of lavish / overthetop 1970s' keyboards .... The "deluxe CD' version is on sale at Deep Discount. Those Stirring Up comps are pretty good (I think there was another one in the bin recently - Ska? Jazz?) but like most recent Jasmine releases the discs are CDRs, if you care about such things.
