probably the first Die Hard. just when I think I've seen enough of it during the year, it's everywhere during Christmas, it being a "holiday movie" according to some

Woody Allen junkie here. I've seen "Husbands and Wives" / "Hannah and Her Sisters" / "Manhattan Murder Mystery" and others dozens of times each.

Yeah, that's it exactly. I'm in my early 50s, and I just don't have the time or the obsessiveness to watch the same thing over and over anymore. And sadly I can't think of any movies from the last 15 years that rate that sort of obsessiveness.

I would say the original 1968 'Planet of the Apes' is the movie I've watched the most out of *any* movies I've seen...

The films of our youth probably weren't worth that either. It was just that time in your life when these things seemed to mean so much more.

I haven't had cable TV since 2013. But this one used to be inescapable on basic cable.

'Die Hard 2' is a Christmas movie too.
I get a laugh at the end when that cop tears up McClane's parking ticket and says :" Merry Christmas!"
All is well. Holly's safe, the bad guys are all dead, McClane is still alive.
But..did we forget the 200 people who were killed in the plane crash?
In reality, the head of security at the airport and his staff would all be losing their jobs following the investigation into this.

Probably one of the Christmas movies like It's a Wonderful Life or A Christmas Story

Of non-Christmas movies, I think it might be North By Northwest

Yeah, that's puzzled me ever since I first watched it. Saw it again recently (it's great!) But, THAT is a major plot point I think they should have addressed. I mean, that crash was probably still burning when the film ends.

I watched it once with my then 7 year old daughter and once on my own. For a couple of years we did the "I'm Batman" line in Will Arnett's voice to each other and laughed a lot.

Probably Almost Famous. There was a time when I watched it monthly.
    Then Blade Runner.

    Too many to count.

Favorite movies are like favorite albums or books... just longer than albums, shorter than books.

Each listening/viewing/reading is a bit different... most likely from my mood or mental state, or what else I've heard/viewed/read in the interim, not to forget what has transpired in my life and the greater world.
