JB's a crapshoot with their packaging. The way it's supposed to work is they find the shop closest to your location that has the item and post it from there. So if the storeman at Barkley Square gives a stuff about vinyl he'll pack it well but if the guy at Water Gardens is thinking about the beer waiting at home he'll throw it in a Toll plastic bag and forget about it. I deal with them every day so I can actually see the difference in stores.

 

I think you may be only something there Swifty. I'm always meaning to take time out from buying and actually listen to the stuff I've accumulated, but the bargains on that damn monopoly monolith just keep coming.

 

That's really interesting and explains a lot. Due to Amazon, I'd forgotten that JBs weren't just a few big warehouses shipping everything out!

Wow! Ordered this yesterday and it arrived in less than 24hours! It was only packed in a standard box for protection but survived the trip. I still have a lot to listen to from the sale before I crack this open.
Did anyone else buy the Bran box?? Turns out to be excellent Welsh folk rock, not a million miles from
Meic Stevens who released some stuff on the same Welsh Sain label.

 

Had a listen to a couple of Bran tracks on YouTube, Welsh psych/folk is a little too weird for me - which is saying something!

1. I have admitted I am powerless over buying records and CDs on Amazon—that my life has become unmanageable ( well, not quite!)

I have now gone two days without buying anything on Amazon.

 

I’m still going through the records I bought last month…slowly getting through them to listen.

CDs are easier - all burnt to USB for car ..not that I have made much of a listening dent.

it’s stupid really - I have so much music - don’t need anymore. It’s all want!

The addiction is real

 

Yes it is addiction that Im also guilty of. But it’s a far better addiction than gambling, drugs etc.

 

Yep, I've yet to hear of people committing burglary or stealing from family to fund their music addiction!

 

And we still have something of value to show for our addiction and continue to enjoy it

 

Look at all us addicts, trying to justify our purchases!

 

It's definitely a disease. There is no two ways about it.
However, if I ws to sell all the bargains I got from Amazon I would definitely come out way ahead. So that's a positive.
But yes, I admit, I have a problem.

 

I have now gone three days without buying anything from Amazon.

It has been very difficult, I still spend too much time crate digging through the website and I walk up and check my mail box every couple of hours, even though it is Sunday and I have no orders outstanding.

Amazon have been very supportive, none of the items in My Cart or Saved Items have dropped significantly in price

 

No, January on Amazon has been disappointing so far, which is probably a relief!

wish I was similarly addicted and in trouble, but alas, if you're only chasing certain vinyl titles like myself, its been a very dry 18 months.

 

What titles are you looking for? You never know what people may have in their collection they may be prepared to part with.

Four days gone without an Amazon purchase - I didn't want this important piece of information to be buried beneath other news like increased Co-vid cases, Djokovic's Court case etc.

 

Four days without an Amazon purchase in January 2022 is not the same as four days without an Amazon purchase in January 2020 but keep up the good work!
