I'd almost call Burdon a psych artist, since he had a few psych albums in a row-- really the whole of the new Animals period.

It baffles me that "The Ark" isn't considered a pinnacle of psych pop. It's quite simply one of the better psych albums I've ever heard and absolutely deserves more attention. It's not quite on the same level as stuff like Sgt. Pepper's or Odessey and Oracle but it is truly a marvelous piece of work.
"Painted Dayglow Smile" is one of my favourites psych pop songs of all time.

  19. I think one could argue The Rolling Stones "Their Satanic Majesties Request" could qualify.

I completely agree. I was pleasantly surprised when I first heard it. It's like the critics didn't even give it a chance. It was dismissed quicker than you can say Chad & Jeremy.

The Tokens as Cross Country. Just a few touches of psyche but a different sound for sure.
