    Fontaines D.C. | Fontaines D.C.

The new single, taken from the forthcoming album 'Skinty Fia' out 22nd April.

Skinty Fia is the band’s first album since their Grammy-nominated 2020 full-length A Hero’s Death. Once again, they worked with producer Dan Carey. The album title translates to English as “the damnation of the deer."

Cant wait for the new album. A Hero's Death was my favorite album during that first year of COVID.

Hmm, I loved Boys In The Better Land and about half of the debut. For all the acclaim it got, what I heard from A Hero's Death didn't do much for me. This isn't very good at all on first listen. It doesn't go anywhere or have much of a tune. Oh well, I hope the fans love it.

Yeah, they forgot the melodies on the 2nd one and got raves. Beats me.

I'm beginning to think they aren't great songwriters, but they have a good sound. The singer's voice really grates on me now too. It's good to see a band putting out an album a year though and even though I'm not keen on them anymore, I'd rather see Fontaines DC selling loads of records than some of the other rubbish that passes for rock nowadays or bands that peaked 20+ years ago.

Yeah it was. A Hero's Death didn't do it for me. I really liked most of Dogrel, but preferred the sound of the singles before it. I found the production of Dogrel a bit tinny but it was a very good album. I wasn't into them before Dogrel, I just listened to loads of their stuff when it came out and thought 'these guys seem interesting'. I also bought that The Darklands Sessions EP.

When the restrictions were lifted for a time back in October, I maanged to see Fontaines DC on both their Scottish dates. Excellent live band, I've now been fortunate to have seen them half a dozen times.

Liking the new tune very much, looking forward to the album and hopefully some more dates are on the way.

    Loving everything about this already.

Last two albums have been a pleasure. Especially the last one over lockdown.

I had the privilege of seeing them live last year & they restored all my faith in live music & rock and roll post lockdown. Rare to see a crowds attention be pulled away from their phones & in to the moment with the band, to have so much fun.

I'm captivated by them and hope this run they are having continues.

Just pre-ordered a bunch of stuff

Best new band of the past decade for me. A proper gang following their own muse. Their 2nd album basically got me through lockdown 2020.

Because of your comment I checked them out.. and I’m really digging what I’ve heard. Her voice reminds me of Wolf Alice Ellie Roswell. I’ve got tix for the Fontaines show.. even more stoked for it now. Thanks! :)

The new song grew on me fast, but I don’t like it as much as Televised Mind. Looking forward to seeing them live in May, a couple weeks after the new album comes out.
