There was a documentary about his life,he had some health issues while back, but he's still out there so he must be well some of his stuff was a little routine, but always a laugh,as far as the alphabet network late night talk shows
Yeah, there's nothing in the way of really funny stand up acts on the network channels. But I don't see anything advertised anywhere for streaming or for expanded cable packages like Showtime and HBO. It's almost like a stand up comic desert on all media distribution companies. I don't even get adverts from Comedy Central which I know still exists even though I haven't had it to watch for ten years at least. Is there anything out there as funny as Amazing Jonathan?
Last I knew he was doing the casino circuit...Last couple of years haven't been good for stand up...some of the top ones having self inflicted mishaps.Got to be careful here, but the atmosphere isn't favorable right now.Nothing less funny than a politically correct comic.
Yeah, PC is creating a lot of generically funny comics lately on talk shows where if they can't make me laugh within 2 minutes I change the channel and in the past several years I've had to do that to all of them.
Here's something cool. Someone has reuploaded all the AV Club's deleted AV Undercover videos. Mac McCaughan and Kelly Hogan cover Jonathan Richman's "That Summer Feeling" channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCN1PaxwwiU6vfjHiEd-Tbmg
"Near Death Captured" on Fail Force One channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/FailForceOne/videos Most of the crazy clips seem to come from other countries than the U.S. There is a new video almost weekly. It's like driving by a car wreck over and over and over again . . .
The Photographic Eye - Anton Corbijn: A Lesson In Intoxicating And Striking Photography Anton - Phototographer, film & music video director being of Dutch ancestry, probably most notably recognized for his work with Depeche Mode & U2.
Tyler Karow's youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/tylerkarow He is an American rock climber who has been climbing down in Patagonia. The 4K video (shot with a GoPro?) is stunning.
Andres Antunes youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/AndreAntunesofficial/videos He is a very talented guitarist, and he often takes video clips and "translates" them into a metal song. In "U.S. Navy goes METAL," he takes the words and marching cadence of recruits and creates a really cool song:
Merrick Hanna on "America's Got Talent" - I get emotionally touched every time I watch this. Watch it from beginning to end & you'll see what I mean. I bought the song too!
There's this church in Toronto called Centre Place that has a great YT channel. They have great historical lectures, many with a biblical theme, many not. They seem open minded, not so dogmatic as you may think. Interesting lectures.
Those were so good. Really creative and interesting. AFAIK by season 2 the Addams Family Trust finally caught up with it and made her stop. Not unusual as the family has always held a really tight rein on the property.
