I’m not a doors fan so excuse me if this is a dumb question, but who owns the rights to their catalogue?
Hi pats, do you know if any release contains completely unreleased material? or at least some unreleased part?
And if you want to dig deeper, type Jampol with the words "sugar daddy" into Google and you'll get some illuminating results.
I’d like a repress of the Hoffman LA Woman please. I wish to pay no more than £25. Thankyou. I’ll have the Fleetwood Mac Rumours one as well while you’re there. Much obliged.
great, now that's in my search history. also that's hilarious but also kind of a non-story? rich entertainment mogul does rich entertainment mogul things? cool.
The core catalogue is owned by Warner and the artist royalties are split between several parties: The Doors - L.A. Woman 50th Anniversary - what do we expect? Some or maybe even all Bright Midnight recordings are owned by the 'Doors Music Company'.
great guess btw I bet Bob Dylan has a RSD release in April and a "future" project this year ... You aren't whetting anyone's appetite as much as you are annoying people.
Which includes all 11 concerts (plus Aquarius rehearsal/stage recording, i.e. Backstage & Dangerous) recorded for the Absolutely Live project.
The complete concerts issued as part of Bright Midnight are owned by the 'Doors Music Company'. EDIT: I'm referring to the rights in the recordings of course, not to the multitrack tapes as physical items.
(p) & (c) The Doors Music Company and only manufactured/distributed by Warner is printed on the back cover of most releases.
Where is that tape of Morrison flagellating to his never released song, "Pissing Down My Drunken Leg On A Nuremburg Night"
Only The Doors know their business arrangement with Warner/Elektra, but it was revealed that when BMR started circa 2000, that the band had to license the Detroit and Aquarius recordings from Warner at a considerable cost. They don’t own those tapes.
