Hittum all in the Denver-Boulder area but don't count on old jazz, mint Beatles etc.....most go right on-line.

Twist and Shout and Wax Trax are close to each other in Denver. Independent Records in Colorado Springs has some good stuff too.

What sort of music are you looking for?

My favorite in Denver is Recollect Records - they largely focus on R&B/soul, jazz, hip hop, and international stuff, but they do have a rock section too. I find interesting and rare records there fairly regularly.

Most of that is picked clean in Denver or rip prices.

I missed the list of genres in the OP. :hide:

In the Denver area: for alternative, punk, and metal, I think Wax Trax and Black & Read (in Arvada) are the best spots. Twist and Shout is the best spot for electronic music overall, but don't expect the type of depth and quality you would find in London (or NYC, Detroit etc).

New vinyl in Denver: Twist & Shout. Black And Read's selection of used is nowhere near what it was 5 years ago. The owner died and it looks ugly now. Wax Trax sells everything so fast, you have to be there when they put it out.

Twist And Shout (Denver)owner just sold the store to his manager. Where a manager gets 500K+ to buy it is beyond me cept a bank with call ability loan. The owner bought the building for 3 million a few years ago and tried to sell it for 4 million....no takers. Interest cost on both must be massive on the loans. At least the new owner's landlord is the original owner.....if the original owner gets his 4 million, I doubt it, what's the potential new owner of the building going to do, keep it at a higher rent or Sprouts/Walmart/Target? Dangerous situation for one of the finest record stores in the nation.
