Get Robert Duval to reprise his roll as the taxi driver.

This sounds like a very, very bad idea. Why can’t they just leave well enough alone? Sequels, reboots, and remakes are seldom good. Most stink and are quickly forgotten.

Spielberg? Ok, a little girl in peril will need to be saved by the female lead replacing Steve McQueen, she will have a catch phrase that she yells when she knocks out one of the thugs with a punch and then shoots the other three. "Make Mama's Day!" Or something similar. She will not be in a panty shot because Spielberg now thinks he's too enlightened to think about women's underwear. Or maybe just too old.

They are still writing the script. Don’t give them any ideas. :shake:

In a bonus feature of the Blu-ray, Robert Vaughn said he never did understand the script.

Watched several times in the last 10 years. Leaving aside the car chase, it's a riveting police procedural (the car chase in fact doesn't even move the plot along much but it does raise the stakes of the assassin's seriousness). The only weaknesses are the scenes with Jacqueline Bisset, but even those provide some emotional modulation and balance.

Don't know who can replace the irreplaceable McQueen (who knows, at one point in history there was no Steve McQueen, we all have to start somewhere) but this is exactly the kind of film I was hoping Spielberg might make. Actually a sequel to 'Ronin' but this will do.

Bullitt is a solid character and certainly more deserving of a sequel than, say, a shark.

No. The Mustang must be the new Mustang E. Halfway thru the chase it can run out of battery charge. :D

That's what happens when directors run out of ideas, remake after remake...
