A couple of goodies I spotted: 'The Globeflower Masters' - this is one of those modern projects where cool guys recreate cool 1960's sounds - one of the players is the guy from Blue States, who I enjoy a lot. $9.52. https://www.amazon.com/Globeflower-Masters-Vol-1/dp/B097VRFZZ Lazerbreak - Cameron - $11.68 - Discogs shows this as a hip hop release, because I guess the guy produced music for Lizzo. But, it's really more of a new age / ambient/ soundtrack thing, worth investigating, IMO. https://www.amazon.com/Cameron-LP-Lazerbeak/dp/B09M794RM2 Ross Goldstein - Chutes & Ladders - I bought this a few weeks ago, I see they have 1 in stock now. This is a modern mellotron album, very obscure I think. $11.41. Listen on Bandcamp. https://www.amazon.com/Chutes-Ladders-Ross-Goldstein/dp/B09BKTH7NL Chutes and Ladders, by Ross Goldstein Martha Scanlan - River And The Light - traditional folk sound with ambient / drone / eerie backing - Jon Neufeld of Black Prairie does the music. $10.62 https://www.amazon.com/River-Light-Martha-Scanlan/dp/B099WG1NBS Silence - Electric Meditations - heavy Japanese psychedelic rock on Drag City - $11.02 https://www.amazon.com/Electric-Meditations-Silence/dp/B08HRRD7QD Steep Canyon Rangers - Arm in Arm - this was really cheap last summer - today on offer is the Colored Vinyl version, different from last year, for $11.38 .. https://www.amazon.com/Arm-FIRST-PAINT-SPLATTER-VINYL/dp/B08DC5LB43
Really great set of recommendations! I think I got one of the last 2 copies of Silence - Electric Meditations - heavy Japanese psychedelic rock on Drag City - $11.02. Act fast if you want the last one!
Damon Albarn The Nearer the Fountain, More Pure the Stream Flows cassette tape only $7.92 From what Ive read this includes the bonus instrumental track missing from the US CD. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B097QLF18G/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Yes, my experiences with them have been great. In fact, I was just able to get the RSD Ramones box from them cheaper than anywhere else. Really good online seller, in my opinion. Would recommend without hesitation.
Chris Spedding - Joyland (Vinyl) 14.98 Very cool record well mixed with lot's of guest vocalists. Includes picture sleeve with a write up on each song. Ian McShane from Deadwood series (they were pal's), Bryan Ferry from Roxy Music and many more... https://www.amazon.com/Joyland-Chri.../ref=tmm_vnl_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=&sr=

Still one copy of this left, price went back down, from $29.99 to $11.28. Thought about it, but with $6.00 for shipping, not going to pull the trigger on it. Can't think of anything else right now to pair with it to hit the free shipping threshold. It's up for grabs for anyone else!
Currently sitting at $42.67, which is still a hefty discount. Will be keeping an eye on it, thanks for the tip.
I am getting very close to going back to CDs. I have been having some crappy luck with vinyl these days and I recently got a puppy who is preventing me from playing any vinyl on my main listening area.
Still only $22.53, and a bargain compared to the $40 version at Acoustic Sounds. I picked this up a week ago and can confirm it's the QRP, 180g, glossy tip-on jacket version. https://smile.amazon.com/Saxophone-Colossus-LP-Sonny-Rollins/dp/B06Y5P4YBM
The Rolling Stones - Dirty Work Vinyl $18.89 Are these pressing well done? https://www.amazon.com/Dirty-Work-LP-Rolling-Stones/dp/B085RRGLX7
I bought two half speeds...sticky fingers and exile. Both are flat and quiet. However, the mastering itself is nothing special at all...not an audiophile experience. In the case of sticky fingers, i think it sounds horrible. I would expect similar results from Dirty Work.
The Wild Feathers are probably my favorite alt.country rock band these days (at least until I hear that new Wilco album, that's got me curious). Clear, clean vocals with lots of harmonies. Perhaps like the early Eagles? Their latest album is Alvarado - new all-time-low price on Amazon at $16.27 Prime. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B098RFSS89 ========================== Maybe too wimpy for this group? Maybe not ... Richard Carpenter performs solo piano versions of Carpenters' hits (and also The Rainbow Connection from The Muppets Movie, which I have always enjoyed.) Mastered by Bernie Grundman. $13.58 Amazon Prime. https://www.amazon.com/Richard-Carpenters-Piano-Songbook-LP/dp/B09DMTQZNX
as a serious band fan i've always found this album to be extremely uninspired. just blah from start to finish, really. but i might pay $40 for this "ultimate experience" if it keeps dropping.
Casual fan here that enjoys it quite a bit, but yeah, not as much as what came before. And I overpaid at $59.
I have it. Uninspired is a good term for this album. I have the box and while its the new mix, it sounds waaaaaaay more clear to me than the 3-4 muddy pressings ive come across before. worth it at this price.
Horrible? I really wish people would tone down the language to a more realistic level. I don't own this record, so I'm not saying it's not good, but horrible is the sound of that 45 I had as a kid that got kicked around the floor outside of its sleeve and damaged to the point that the music was secondary to the noise. That's what "sounds horrible" is. I doubt your Sticky Fingers sounds like that.
Yeah, its horrible. You hype something as "half speed mastered," flirting with the audiophile market, and you put out sticky fingers that doesn't sound very good at all, you get a "horrible." You want more specific language.....its muddy, undefined and has a poor soundstage. At the risk of being offended, check out this video, this guy agrees that its horrible:
Well, I for one VERY much appreciate the input of ones like you here which will save me from buying some smelly turd of an album (I am quite adept at making my own) so a big 'THANK YOU!' to you sir!
