Thank you. I find HDtracks customer service to be quite good. For example after I posted this, I emailed them, and have already gotten a reply. Regarding this release, the samples seem really good. I am looking forward to listening to this later this weekend.
Keith's vocals as well (painfully obvious to me). Honestly, overdubs on live albums can work fine if they are done well and tastefully integrated in the mix. Clearmountain's done a great job toning down the harmonica overdub in "Mannish Boy" so it isn't quite so painfully obvious there are two Micks (though occasionally his overdub voice shouting through the harmonica mic is still apparent)
Where do the Stones experts rank this live show relative to their other live albums? I didn’t like “Love You Live”, so I’m not sure I’ll like it. Any feedback good or bad is much appreciated.
^ The former I think this is much better than LYL and lots of fun if you like the 70s Stones — of course Mick Taylor enthusiasts will rank it lower but I think it's pretty near the top
I am no Stones expert but this surely must rank quite high amongst their live albums. It is the best I have heard of the Ronnie 70’s era - more focussed and enjoyable than LYL certainly (obviously shares some tracks)
Just grabbed the Qobuz hi-rez to dig on until my cd copy arrives. Partying nekked with The Stones baby.
Received my coloured LP box. That outer case is really a bit too flimsy for a 110 EUR release. Reminds me of the Pink Floyd 'Delicate Sound Of Thunder' Remix 3LP packaging design. I'll be listening to the Atmos mix first.
Do the bootlegs have overdubs? I’m curious to what was overdubbed. Honestly my first thought was some of the guitars are and I’ve only listened to a few songs.
