^^^ Good example of great work above. Ward was a fine actor- I very much enjoyed his work in everything I've seen him in. R.I.P. Fred Ward
A very talented actor. He had that extra something which resonated on the big screen. Miami Blues (1990) is one of his highlights.
He was good too alongside Keith Carradine and Powers Boothe in the seldom seen, seldom discussed 'Southern Comfort' about a platoon of National Guardsmen being hunted in the Louisiana swamps.
The movies lost a great actor. He added legitimacy to a film when I would see his name on the poster or a preview trailer. What an early life! From his wiki page: Freddie Joe Ward was born in San Diego on December 30, 1942. He is of part Cherokee descent. Before acting, Ward spent three years in the United States Air Force. He was also a boxer (breaking his nose three times) and worked as a lumberjack in Alaska, janitor, and short-order cook. He studied acting at New York's Herbert Berghof Studio after serving in the U.S. Air Force. While living in Rome, he dubbed Italian films into English and appeared in films by neorealist director Roberto Rossellini. Rest In Peace.
