I really can't think of any bad Zep recording either. I rate That’s the Way 9 out of 10, thus it would be among my least faves from the band.
It's fine, it was onto about eight pages last time I looked, but it was removed at first. I mentioned on it that loads of bands get intense and heavy criticism here without any problems, so why should naming the Beatles songs we think are weak be a problem or be criticised? Plenty of people repeatedly post that they hate Queen, Kiss, U2 etc etc just to make a stupid big statement and they don't get their posts removed.
Truly- what is the point to this? Especially as this is a thread created by Our Host, who usually insists upon having no hate threads, and that is exactly what this is. Must be some kind of "experiment".........
No it isn't. Plenty of people can still like what they consider the weakest Beatles or Zep songs. I don't hate any by either, but I can reel off a list of ones I think are relatively weak.
Your post was just the closest one, and it mentioned a lot of songs. Don't take it personally. This is a dumb thread anyway.
Builds character. Sharpens one's sense of humor. Maybe raises one's blood pressure taken too seriously.
I love those. I find Kashmir a bit of a slog. Not crazy about Whole Lotta Love with the orgasmic interlude. I prefer the live version with the Theremin.
My least favorite LZ song is Hey Hey What Can I Do. That's right, I prefer Hot Dog, if I had to choose.
Title of thread: What are the not so great Led Zeppelin songs? It implies negative posts. Not actual discussions of the merits of an artist or band. Sure, there are songs by both bands that aren't as good as others- we all know that- but what is the implication of a thread like this? Most members have decided to use this- and similarly titled threads- as an excuse to trash revered bands. This is inevitably what happens. It's fun for some to spew invective. What is the point of this? No one has answered my question yet!
Maybe a lot of us prefer to take part in actual music discussions instead of free-for-all nonsense that 90% of other music forums excel in. Why do we have to do this here as well?
That's a problem with people, not the thread. Things shouldn't be removed because some people aren't being particularly articulate. I don't think I've spewed any invective or hate, along with plenty of others. I agree that it's all pointless, but I guarantee so are the majority of the threads on the first page as you read this, positive or not. Not everything has to have a great point, near mindless chat can often hit the spot. It's when it becomes aggressive, disrespectful or personal problems arise. Anyone doing that on a music forum to someone they've never met isn't displaying great levels of maturity. I'm not saying I've always been perfect, far from it. I know I've posted some stuff I regret here when I've been in a cranky, touchy, unhappy or defensive mood. I've begged the gorts to remove it more than once and quite often think 'I've gone too far' and delete posts myself quickly after I've posted them.
Yes of course. We don't. It 'could' be a discussion of songs and music - isn't it almost like weakest links threads, in a way. I chimed in without a list just with some well intentioned advice fwiw. Gee.
