Queen’s so called 3rd greatest hits just really irritates for me existing. Maybe Made in Heaven would get the chop too, as it’s only an E.P’s worth of original stuff. Then there is the Paul Rogers travesty.
None. There are some albums I'm not crazy about, even by my favorite artists, but I just accept that they exist. Not to mention there might be other people who like them.
For me an album is like some kind of musical diary entry in an artists journey. Artists have the opportunity to go in all kinds of different directions, and sometimes we like that, and sometimes we don't....... but for artists I love, I can generally find something to like about all their albums.... I don't generally count compilations, as I'm not really interested in best of's, though I know they serve a purpose.
Like the poster above, I'd also say none. Really, if a person's life is rocked that much because they feel the presence of an album in an artists discography prevents the discography from somehow becoming a "perfect" body of work, I'd say that's the problem of the listener rather than the artist. I mean, you always have the option of choosing not to listen to something.
Rock and Roll I can deal with. It has some pretty good covers. I was thinking more like Sometime In New York City
I personally believe that a complete discography is important. I may not listen to a bad album by an artist that I like, but that doesn't mean that I don't see how important each album is. Everybody has to lose the gamble sometime. A couple of these mediocre albums may even yield a decent single or two.
