I was 16 when I sneaked into the pictures to see it. Had to leave my bedroom light on that night! Can still see her head spinning around
Really? If I was going to erase a Harrison album it would be Gone Troppo. Or maybe Somewhere In England.
This one has virtually been erased already. Not on streaming services, excluded from The Clash Soundsystem, …
Zeppelin's "In Through The Out Door" - they would have a perfect score (imo) if this was not included.
With the exception of Good Vibrations and Heros and Villains, the remaining bulk of Smiley Smile is ear poison. Just awful and awfully embarrassing coming off the well manicured heels of Pet Sounds.
Well said. I’d started a list of likely contenders but, having read your post, have decided not to post it. Hey, who are we to diss anything by artists we otherwise dig so much that anything falling short of our standards of excellence should be “erased”? Like you say, the choice of whether or not to listen to something is ours alone. And one man’s meat is another’s poison. Someone will like what I do not. Crack on!
Terrible albums if they weren't the doors minus Jim this music is worse than a Holiday inn lounge band
Excuse me? This isn't a game. This is a discussion forum. And as long a they are presenting their point of view, it's valid to the discussion. If the question was "Which albums would you erase from [insert band's name here]'s discography?" I would argue that "none" is valid answer. If none is a valid answer for a specific artist/band, then it's valid to the broader question. Still I'll play along, The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Live In Cologne. It's complete crap, I've heard bootlegs that sound better than this atrocity. The Hendrix estate should be ashamed of themselves for offering the Dagger Records releases.
I, too, am capable of not buying something I don't like, but how do you know you don't like something if you don't listen to it ?
I've been doing my part, Son of Ziggy. I don't acknowledge that album's existence either. Nor do I acknowledge the Queen Paul Rogers travesty. They're as good as erased. I don't acknowledge "Super Deluxe Editions" by any artist. Stop the consumer madness!
I don’t, and I wasn’t suggesting I could. But after listening to it once, if I don’t like it, I need not engage with it again. I don’t see why my not liking something should entitle me to the decision to erase it from existence so nobody else who may like it can enjoy it.
The vocals, the lyrical paucity... after All Things Must Pass and Living in the Material World it must have been a big let down from a major artist for those buying it at the time.
