Never thought this possible. This is probably gonna cost me some money. Luckily for my wallet, I’ll be buying the SACD, and not the vinyl.

The SACD from about 20 years ago will take some beating.

It's actually cheaper than the Van Halen one steps, more than likely because it's 33 RPM. $100

Shame no 5.1 mix on the SACD. Another missed opportunity.

40000 LP’s, not likely those that want them will miss out.

That was a MoFi surprise! 40,000 ( 3 per household) is an incredible number of copies, so no rush there. Almost seems like MoFi is starting to ease away from the 2 x 45 format for broader appeal. It is a hassle to get up/down so many times to play a record. It's on the Music Direct site too (listed as available Nov. 18). I'll probably get the SACD too. Exciting times indeed!

PS: Seems like Music Direct no longer offers FedEx shipping and now only UPS. I'm getting quotes from $40 (UPS std) to $58 (UPS worldwide express) for a single copy of this record. I'm not that far away from Chicago here in Canada. That's crazy high shipping costs. So international buyers be ready for shipping sticker shock. Plus UPS tends to ding heavy on import fees in my experience. I'm going to wait a bit on this one now.

  12. This could be an interesting one. Something that has sold so many should mean there is a large market for an upgrade or it could mean it might be devalued as there are plenty around and those fans feel no need for an upgrade.

I am sure back in the day there was a MC mix but Michael did not like it so it was never released. In fact I think there were a few different MC mixes.

Even though I have the original SACD I have purchased the Mofi SACD.

It is. I used to buy from it before Brexit.

You should see it in euro, check shipping to your country and don't forget taxes/import fees.

Looks like a TownsendMusic site. Several bands use them.

Thank you guys! Do you have any idea where it ships from? Because it says taxes and VAT are included in the total, but it still seems cheaper than usual.

One last question. Do you know if they charge the cards immediately or only when it actually ships?

I have the bog standard cd and it sounds amazing. Never heard the original sacd, which I expect is even better.

But even if I had the original sacd, I'd be very curious about the coming MoFi. I really think that MoFi has upped their sacd game lately. The job they did on Crosby's If I Could Only...is flat out amazing. It's superior to all previous digital versions and to my original Artisan LP pressing.

I’ve had them charge on placing the order for most or all things (preorders included) but there has been a couple with a few days delay in the past.

Can’t say where they ship from unfortunately.

Ordered, and this time without actually having to call Music Direct as both the SACD and the One-Step are listed to pre-order on Music Direct.

And to those saying 40,000 is a lot, it seems it is, but these One-Steps, etc tend to sell out faster than anyone would suspect.

I believe the UK. Or at least, that's where they are based:

    Official Michael Jackson Store

The last time I thought I might buy from them was for the anniversary (signed) edition of the first Sugababes, but what with shipping and duties, I felt it was too much.

I guess MoFi might be considering selling also outside the US?
A 2x45rpm One Step comes very close to the €200 mark once it's imported. Plenty of room for them to make money that otherwise only the distributor makes, I would say.
Plus consider that this is one 33rpm, not 2x45rpm.

Again, thank you very much guys!

I'll probably contact them to ask these questions. I just don't feel having more than €100 pending for something that will only come out in November.

If you check the "help & contact" at the bottom of the page, you will find the faq.

They ship from the UK and they charge at the moment of ordering
