Over/Under on how many chest chops Flair throws in his first comeback match: 9 per minute (so if the match is 12 minutes long, 108) I am taking the Over.
Well when he was in his 20's it would be 5 in a 10 minute match, by his 30's it was up to 10, in his 40's it was 20... So at least 100. Also, if anyone books him in a 12 minute match they might get charged with a homicide.
Agreed. To reference your earlier post, how can any promotion worth anything book him in a match? Not sure how legal a "we are not responsible if you keel over dead in the ring" clause is, but even if Flair signs it, the backlash from it happening on your watch would be negativity no promotion needs. Feels like Ric Flair is becoming a real life Randy the Ram.
Ric has officially announced his final match. This July at the Nashville Fairgrounds. Really going out in a blaze of glory. Sources: WWE legend Flair to fight one last time
It's sad to think this will even happen, but to have it happen in a 2,000 seat building on an indy show? Just to give the idea of the building this is occurring at, the NWA held their Crockett Cup Tournament there a month ago.
How many other "final" matches will this lead to if promoters are willing to pay? If Conrad is putting it on, hopefully Ric won't rip his son in law off like he did pretty much everyone else who booked him outside of the WWE.
Ric Flair returning to the ring for 'last match' this July More details... seems it's likely to be Flair & FTR against the Rock & Roll Express and another partner.
To very little demand...... This is stupid Naitch. 73, and beat up. I was not impressed with his Jay Lethal workout. I would never book this and would not wish to be within a thousand miles of the event. It will probably be a nothing burger. Doubt it will make much money.
Lou Thesz wrestled at 74 in New Japan vs Masahiro Chono, but Thesz didn't have the health issues Flair had...and he instantly regretted it as he messed his hip up. I hope nothing happens to Flair while training or working in this match and they keep it a trios match with him only in for a minute or two, but would prefer it never happen. He should have gone out after the mania match vs Michaels, but nobody really retires in wrestling except Jack Brisco.
Apparently the match is FTR & Flair vs R&R Express & Ricky Steamboat if Tony Khan approves FTR being involved. Report: Ricky Steamboat to take part in Ric Flair's final match
Not surprising, since the women's tag titles were completely devalued about a half hour after they were established. #FTB (Free The Boss)
Don't be so sure. Considering how many people still waste their money on that monstrosity otherwise known as WWE, I am sure plenty will be willing to fork over cash to see Ric Flair wrestle one more time while chugging beers and yelling, "Wooo!" (the last part could apply to the fans or Flair)
Steamboat remains a class act. Ricky Steamboat says he declined offer to face Ric Flair in 'last match'
Anyone who wants to see a really good match should check out the Adam Page vs Konosuke Takeshita from AEW last night.
If they can keep Takeshita in the US, they have a future star with him. Also Kyle O'Reilly vs Rey Fenix was quite good as well.
