Yeah I didn't spot a release date in the interview either, and I was listening pretty carefully.
July does begin the 2nd half of the year, so if one was to say it will be out in the 2nd half of the year, it could still arrive pretty soon, I hope...

 

The Pink Floyd Collectors video only covers the public q and a , there was a 15 minute meet and greet / question session hosted in the bar prior to the public opening for those that where invited..

For legal reasons i cant give the exact date.

but i can say that it will coincide with around the end of Rogers tour.

 

Ok, so summer turns to fall then.
A little disappointing but better late than never.
Hoping for "The Wall" 5.1 remix in 2023 then! (Along with the obvious and expected DSOTM 50th anniversary set)

 

The delays are because the band are shopping for a new record label.

Exactly. And when the release date is eventually announced, it will be all over Pink Floyd’s social media channels anyway. No one will miss out on this news.

Well I guess I won’t spend my summer holed up in my basement listening to Animals. Oh, look, a butterfly!

Not saying they won't provide something like a pre-taped performance, but I wouldn't necessarily give too much credence to a gig where the second biggest band is Crash Test Dummies.

 

And then that "news" was retracted to say that it may not be a live performance after all but instead just a video playback. I take all "news" from the AFG Forum with a grain of salt considering the baseless conspiracy theory he posted about Gilmour faking the LTF demo just to get people talking about it. Not to mention that Po has been wrong about this release before. But ya never know.

 

To paraphrase Johnny Rotten during a tuning break at an early PIL gig: I've waited 20 years. I can wait another few months.

The recent hi-res in multi-channel stereo will do in the meantime.

 

According to someone who was at the event, Po (who has been wrong in the past) said the release date is September 30th. Don't shoot the messenger (or the source)!

Right, it was Yet Another Movie! Wrong acronym. But it wasnt something that Gilmour faked to prove Carin wrong.

Finally a release date

 

I just had a correspondence email from the event organizer due to so many news sources reporting clashing headlines.


"It’s a video of their Hey Hey Rise Up song with BoomBox. We feel very fortunate they are supporting the project however they can.

We will be grateful for your support too. We don’t specify what song each artist is doing, however, to keep it a surprise."

So its a case of misleading in order to get more support.

In terms of retracting news i haven't done that, i simply posted the news when it became available.
Having seen more headlines appear contradicting what is posted on the event website it became apparent that there was some sort of misleading going on.

I contacted the organizer instantly and published the response at the bottom of the news article to add clarity.. simply adding in the response to bridge the gap into what the bands input actually is.
