Mariano was the greatest reliever of all time.
    Yang isn't the best......

And he was the greatest closer, not the greatest reliever

Ironically, how many times ya planning on making this same joke in the thread?

Always seemed to me Bowen has no smaller a range than Mikey Day, Kyle Mooney, or Alex Moffat.

Huge risk for anybody , to leave this show by choice in 2022. It is not 1975-2010 anymore. Comedy Box-Office is not what it was. Streamers pay pennies, unless your Dave Chapelle , Seinfeld (meaning a huge name)

Yeah Yang has barely any range. He actually brings a lot of sketches down. I'm not a fan of everyone in the cast but most of them are either versatile or bring something unique. There is nothing wrong with having your brand of comedy but in an environment like SNL you need to bring more to the table.

To me, he's the disappointment of the season.
Sarah Sherman is one of the new highlights for me. She brings a lot of energy and her bits with the WU crew were hilarious.

Alex should've been gone long ago. The fact he was in Update was no excuse to not have the offensive joke swap.

the real starts of SNL the last 15 years have been the writers
it's much easier for them to get shows/movies than the actors

I think they're going to try and keep Michael until the 50th season

Bill Murray himself praised the late '00s crew

    Hold the **** on :wantsome:

  15. They just need to trim the cast down to reasonable number -the introductions alone are almost 5 minutes long.

Well, as long as Pete is with Kim K, I don't think he'll have to worry about paying the pickleman any time soon.

Now Kyle on the other hand....

Kinda my point - Bowen just tends to fall under the "one note" sword more often around here.

i think because he appears on the show more often and usually the centerpiece of some joke . The other guys most of the sketches are forgettable background characters

Whole show = ok. Nothing stood out, except I did like Natasha Lyonne's opening monologue. Knew of her, but haven't watched Russian Doll. After that, the 1940's-sounding NYC gangster moll got tired.
I'd erroneously mixed up Japanese Breakfast with Oliviia Rodrigo (I know, I know!:winkgrin: - It's just I think their albums released around the same time, both, outside of cultural ancestry, a little similar w/the vibe, wardrobing, long brunette hair. For pop music, I like 'em both ok, though there are others I enjoy more if/when I do hear something, i.e. Dua Lipa comes to mind. Would've been a coup if Florence (Welch) And The Machine closed show, since they just released latest album - probably will be on next season.

Aidy, Kate finally leaving ~ Yay!!! :D

In a bizarre way, I think I'll sort of a little bit miss Pete Davidson.:laugh: It's almost gotten like he's just there, like a comfort blanket of "How is this guy on tv?!":winkgrin: He's like one of those ugly-cute puppies & there's at least some charm in that....

Bowen Yang on the other hand.:yawn: = I was thinking "Are there no talented gay comedians?" B/C they're not going to let go of that demographic. And, then thought: Maybe Jarrod Carmichael would make a worthwhile replacement! (But, I can't see Bowen leaving, at least not of his own accord & from how long Lorne kept Pete on, Bowen's got some some time left.)

Thanks for hosting the thread @MikaelaArsenault! :righton:
