What records and cover art were similar to the shweez cliff-drop of Love Beach - dizzying descents into commercialism and crass and stylized graphics, bemusing headscratchers, 'what has become of my band?' moments for you? Post cover images, songs too if you can. Grateful Dead - Go To Heaven Starship - Knee Deep In the Hoopla Yes - Going For the One Blackfoot - Vertical Smiles For the official soundtrack of this thread: We Built This City - Starship
I've never had a problem with Love Beach, unlike Hot Streets or Made in Heaven. Granted, the Love Beach album cover (which effects certain males) seems a bit silly; but musically, it's a pretty enjoyable listen. Never cared for either Hot Streets or Made in Heaven.
I'm not familiar with the tracks in Love Beach. But Chicago's Hot Street is great, so is Queen's Made In Heaven. And again, why the hate for 'We Built This City'!? Just because it's (partly) Jefferson Airplane with a different band name and going straight Pop in the 80s doesn't mean it's bad...
I actually like Love Beach, it gets a bad rap. I think all the songs are good, but I admit Taste of my Love is cringe lyrics. But that song, if you didn't understand what he was singing about is a good song, too bad it wasn't sung in a language no one could understand. The cover is stupid too, but album of the music, to me, is just fine. Greg Lakes voice is in fine form here, and the other 2 sound fine as well, just no acrobat playing on this one, this is a Greg Lake showcase.
