The previews look good! I'm just glad to still have the old man with us. Such a great, effortlessly charismatic actor.

    It's very very good.
    Slowburn at its best.
Jeff is Jeff. That means he's brilliant.

Bridges and the two dogs deserve Emmys.

I ran across it by accident but watched it of course. I really liked it, the angle with the dogs is fun. Watching him move around his house, he definitely shows his age and that he has the physical liabilities of that so when you see him fighting.....it's a stretch. But I just pushed that aside and really enjoyed it. It was a great opener.

He's a trained killer with an incredible will to survive. Being old doesn't mean he can't take out a young man. He's been killing all his life. Experience goes a long way.
Age doesn't mean that experience declines. It's young people who have no experience.
Have a look at Michael Caine in Harry Brown. Trained killers never forget how to do their job. Harry brown is a brilliant film.
It bucks the ageist trend in films and TV.

Just finished both episodes. I'm ready for another one! The fight scenes were staged in a way that didn't portray Bridges' character as an impervious killing machine. He was definitely having to reach deep down to come out on top. And experience does have its advantages.

When I saw the preview for this I wondered if this wasn’t written for Liam Neeson as it seemed exactly like his kind of late career movie.

  18. I found the premise to be utterly formulaic- yet another plot about a retired/rogue spy forced out of retirement/finding himself targeted by his own government for various alleged misdeeds "back in the day" that were committed on Company time, but officially off the books. With the usual all-American emphasis on "action"- i.e. violence and gunplay. (If you want a REAL spy series, watch The Bureau. It's worth paying the money for it.)

But I'll watch anything with Jeff Bridges in it, because he's my favorite actor. So I'll be there next Thursday, to learn how the next installment plays out.

That's the point. That Jeff Bridges is the star, along with John Lithgow, Amy Brenneman and other very good actors. So it's very entertaining. Which is why I'm watching. I'm not much of lover of spy stuff and that would be that last reason I would watch this. Put Jeff Bridges in anything and I'll pretty much watch it.

That being said, this is very good.

Love this show and can't wait for episode 3. Bridges continues to prove that he is one of the best actors ever.

Love the dogs and I am not a dog lover, but these two dogs are good. I am having a hard time with his tongue. I understand he had cancer and this maybe a result of the drugs he had to take, not sure but I find it extremely distracting. Still I love the two stars so I will keep watching.

I predict that Jeff’s daughter will be revealed to be Maeby.

Pretty good show but a tad slow.
