Anything is possible, but with multiple lawsuits in multiple countries, I seriously doubt this will even get resolved in 2022 - let alone resolved in time to manufacture a box set in time for the holiday season. And unless the vinyl has already been pressed, that could easily be 2024 at the earliest before we see it.

But isnt the dispute around digital downloads? Cant see how it would effect physical copies.

I could be wrong, but my read of what I’ve seen is it’s broader than that.

From a different article: “The claim letter threatens litigation on the basis, inter alia, that they are owed damages estimated in the ‘millions of dollars’ going back to 1973”

Regardless, it’s been put on hold. So even if it’s just digital downloads, it doesn’t seem like anything is moving forward until the litigation is resolved.

  6. Thats what I gleaned too. It's coming, but it's probably a ways off. Maybe 20 years from now. :)

Such a shame if the project is being held up because of this legal challenge. It could take a LONG time to resolve. I think there’s a valid argument to release anyway, especially if it’s already been manufactured, which it may well have been.

They could hold the profits from the set earning interest while the case is settled. Maybe that’s what will happen and we’ll see it for Xmas - that would be my bet. As has been observed before, a good proportion of the Hendrix buying public ain’t getting any younger! Get the thing out there.

My vinyl boxset still shows too @ $121.00, wouldn't be surprised if there are warehouse's full of these box sets waiting to ship.

If it is on Amazon USA, could someone please post a link to it because I have tried since I first read this thread and have never successfully pulled anything up. I would like to get in a pre-order, just in case, too.

    thanks

Did you get a notice? My order still sits there. Order placed when it came up the first time for the vinyl set.

You had to be quick, it came up twice for very brief periods. Its not currently showing for pre order.

Unless they're suing for that riff Jimi 'borrowed' from Dance for Ezy Ryder, I don't see how a Noel-based lawsuit could affect this release. Mitch maybe, but why Noel?

Sucks about the lawsuit, but it means there's light at the end of a long tunnel. Maybe it and RAH will be resolved at the same time and released together in a mega boxset.

I think Mitch's estate is suing too.

Rockin’ Rod’s ex-missus just chimed in regarding the EL box set.

Has there ever been a a more litigated dead guy?

I have no idea what goes on in the after life, but I can picture Jimi, Mitch and Noel watching on in some other realm with pure disgust at all this tripe.

Wasn’t the original announcement in early Jan - with a release date of late March? If so, I doubt there’s a warehouse full of box sets.

There wasn’t ever an announcement. It just appeared briefly on Amazon and was discovered, and then weirdly disappeared and reappeared a few times.
