So, here's where it all started, very innocently enough by myself. I take all the blame and any credit anyone can muster:

Grateful Dead Dave's Picks 2017 Subscription Thread

Then it sort of blew up here, and then it got legs over on dead.net (there's some good news :disgust:).

All I can say, and if you spend some time reading the old thread starting where I linked you to, you'll more or less get the picture, is that it disgusts me to this day that I have to submit to the full show edict but there's no just give us what happened edict.

Just received my Origins LP so can’t wait to give that a spin.

ImportCDs are selling the All The Years Combine DVD box for $53. As far as I’m aware it’s been OOP for years and goes for a lot more on secondary market.

I only needed the View from the Vault DVDs to complete my collection and this worked out cheaper.

I’ll take a risk on the DVDs being labelled Region 1. My Closing of Winterland DVD is labelled Region 1 but is actually Region 0

8/25/72 - sound issues aside, it's the weakest show of the run. Give us the rest!!!

They probably picked it because the last reel had never circulated (the only live 1972 GD that was not circulating in any form, I think).

Forgot about the 06-23-74 "Let it Rock"
It should have stayed in rotation......we could have gotten a quadruple Berry.

I wish they’d kept it as opposed to Around and Around which I’m burnt out on.

I'm listening to 6/23/74, Let It Rock came on and I came here to post about how much I love that song and >>BAM<< you're right on it. I'm so thankful Jerry kept playing this song in Jerry Garcia Band, because he lights it on fire every time. The JGB versions are extended, laid back, but incredible Jerry-jams. Every dead fan needs to check them out. Garcia Live series, has several (for the uninitiated).

I did a comparison somewhere back in this thread. I actually prefer the 1971 versions of “Duprees,” “Rosemary,” “Doin That Rag**,” and “Mountains Of The Moon.”

** - my ideal studio version would’ve been the 1971 mix with the ending left on.

All I know is that I didn't notice anything, made my usual comment about how I like the new Dave's, and was mercilessly attacked over a controversy I knew nothing about.

"There must be some misunderstanding, ooo ooo ooo . . ."

I don't read every post in these threads, and still don't. Heck, a lot of times I know I miss entire pages. This thread ain't my wife.

Just don't say you like Vol. 24, even if you do. No one really cares, anyway.

In short, you missed out on nothing. You were spared.

"Dupree's" has a different, much more confident Garcia vocal in the remix. I'd guess he recorded it in 1971, interesting since it was absent from the GD live repertoire at the time.

Confession: never met a Duprees, Mountains or Rag I don’t like.

Amazon has it for $59. These have been on sale at various retailers for at least the last several months.

Ah, just noticed this was reissued in January of this year.

Bad boys can love their mothers, even one who turned twenty-one in prison doing life without parole. He's probably happy not to get the lickings that the other ones had, too. His brothers may be happy that they finally got to leave home.

With the GD, yes. I heard Lesh sing Mountains once which was awkward.
