I’ve just had a reply to let me know they are trying to get conformation. Will be the only thing that stops me buying it if it is.

Interesting. I note that it doesn't actually say "50th Anniversary" or "40th Anniversary" on the packaging or discs, at least not as far as I can tell from the photo. But it's interesting that both Amazon and Burning Shed are calling it 40th. Insofar as it's just a reprint of the 2012 40th Anniversary edition anyway, I don't suppose it matters much what they call the reprint. Amazon has a photo of the back cover that clearly says "40th Anniversary", but it's not clear where that came from, since it's not on Rhino's site and the product obviously is not available yet for Amazon to take their own pictures.
I don't see how, seems quite simple and straight forward to me. The DVD/CD book is a reissue of the 2012 40th anniversary and the LP is the 50th anniversary with a reprint of the original 1972 newspaper release.
The vast majority of purchasers won't even notice or care. That vast majority likely don't even know about this forums existence.
Of course I’ll be getting it but I do wish it was of the original mix; would’ve been nice to get a half speed master of that and I’d have loved to hear how it compared to the eighties MFSL.
It's Thick As A Brick, that alone makes it worth the price. Hell, the books in these sets on their own are worth the price. The peace of mind knowing I'll no longer have that wretched gap on my shelf where this one should be is priceless.
Extremely happy and waiting till Oct. . . There should be at least 250 pages of 40th vs 50th confusion by then . Awesome !
The image on Rhino's website has the "40 YEARS AGO..." and "...40 Years later..." in the "newspaper" story on the front, as seen on the 2012 edition. This may, of course, simply be a reused photo from 2012.
