FWIW, I got a generic order update email from Bullmoose today saying that "the item" was either out of stock or on backorder from the manufacturer. I'm obviously going to keep the order open - I'll update here if I get any more news.
I just got an email from Amazon saying it has shipped! Should be here by the 14th. It'll probably arrive sooner.
There are some third party listings on Amazon US for the Riot Fest wax. They are listed at what Amazon originally had them priced for ($35 USD)
Looks like it's available on ImportCDs for cheaper than what you can get it on Amazon for at the moment.
I'm suspecting that the "third party listings" is direct from the record label. Which is good, because Amazon doesn't always package vinyl too well
Listening to it now. Sounds professional. No big stereo separation though. Vocals are a little loud. So maybe just a soundboard? Sounds great though. Lots of energy. A total shame that this won't be a series of recordings. Whomever nixed that project needs a spanking.
Oh, package came from Amazon fulfillment center. In a proper vinyl mailer. Record has some pops. Probably needs a cleaning. Gatefold cover with live photos on inside.
No record label or recording information. Just a middle finger and "records" written underneath. Band members listed with pictures on inside gatefold. Looks like it was designed to be a "bootleg".
Too bad this didn't become a series. There could be a good documentary/live video CD box from that tour if they wanted it. Hopefully next year we get back to the box set reissues. Next Friday I get to see Tommy play live.
If it's a true soundboard then the audience recording I've been listening to for the last 9 years is probably better.
Because it was a soundboard in a big place, you can hear all the instruments on it. Doesn't sound like a big crowd, but I guess that's all what comes through the mikes.
Looks like Garageland has an “exclusive” green vinyl version….. THE REPLACEMENTS - LIVE AT RIOT FEST TORONTO (LIMITED EDITION GREEN SWIRL VINYL)
I did digitize my LP of Riot Fest to 24/96 FLAC and it sounds great and it's all tagged and nice, but don't PM me if you want to hear it as that would be wrong and illegal, especially for such a limited and vinyl only release with minimal marketing. Again, good luck getting this out of me as it will NOT be as easy as PM'ing me so don't even try. Anyway, record's good, Paul.
I received an email from Amazon today: Hello, Due to a lack of availability, we will not be able to obtain the following item from your order. We've canceled the item and apologize for the inconvenience. If you see a charge for the canceled item, we will refund you within 1-2 business days. If you are still interested in purchasing this item, it may be available from other sellers. Please visit the detail page for this item below. There appear to be a few available from Amazon third party sellers but, at this point, I'm longer interested...
speaking of the 'mats - any word on any further official vault releases? i hate making the assumption that "we ought to have something for the holiday market," but i'm also eager to hear more 'stuff' from our minneapolis mavericks, so... i guess this is just my little thread bump smitquest
Jason from Rhino said they were taking this year off from any archival releases somewhere earlier in this thread or on the thread for last year's release.
