Should someone open a dedicated thread for Midnights? I just started a new job and won't have the time to properly moderate.
I grabbed it with medium expensive shipping…at least we didn’t have to choose between 8 versions amiright?
Easy for me as her US shop doesn't ship outside the US anymore and the EU shop is located in the UK, which is not part of the EU anymore
That has to be her weakest "concept" for an album. I liked somewhat the liner notes for "Lover" explaining her vision for the album. This time is just... meh. Still, I'm hyped for it.
Here Germany store, €16 to post to Ireland but better than paying UK postage and import tax Taylor Swift Shop for Germany
Taylor missed a great opportunity in the last line of that ad copy to not say “Meet me at Midnights”. …just sayin’….
Her concepts are more about a general feel and I don’t want overworked concepts anyway, so I am perfectly fine with it. Sounds a bit how she described Carolina (a nice song looking for a far better film than what Crawdad became)
Yeah, that's why I liked Lover's better than this one. It seems like she's reaching in this text she made, trying to sound way too wise and poetic.
And yeah she got Best Director, as we talked about earlier. Three wins ( Video Of The Year, new record for most wins by a single artist, Best longform video and director) Real boss.
I tried to formulate a reply to you, but erased it. But it got saved in the box, hence was featured by accident. So I hope you didn’t spend too long trying to decipher it.
No problem. lol Though I was worried for a while if I wasn't being too dumb by being unable to decipher it.
I listened back to her debut’s original 11 tracks. And it struck me that all the tracks I really don’t think cut it, A Place In This World, Cold As You and Tied Together With A Smile, will win immensely from new vocals.
Thanks for posting that. I’m one of those that finds the music “biz” fascinating, so that was an intriguing read for me.
I can't read that, but streaming is so different now than it was even a decade ago that it doesn't feel like a good a vs b comparison. Even though she still moves a ton of physical product (vs everyone else), my guess would be her streaming is way up and the physical sales are down (vs 2012).
The most interesting thing to me is that Red TV did almost double the numbers of Fearless TV. Fearless had more big hits but Red is a lot of people’s favorite. It’s rad to see how that translated into numbers
She did a lot more promo for Red TV. She did the whole talk show circuit for it, played All Too Well on SNL, etc. Fearless TV was released and that was it. I am sure that made a big difference.
