Someone on this thread asked how to tell if it's a Japanese Promotional release, this is what you look for on the release A Japanese friend translated it for me years ago but I don't remember what it exactly said in English!
unique mix or something? Why would an unofficial single of 2 album tracks cut in 2007 command so much? I wouldn't think the SQ would be very good if they had questionable sources/mastering, but just spitballing I find it fascinating it has fetched 4 figures.
There is nothing unique about it, I would not be surprised if the idea actually came from this list on Discogs DJ Promo Maxi I first seen it on Ebay 2008/09 and the bidding went mad on it with Thin Lizzy and Status Quo fans going after it! I am sure at that stage none of the bidders and myself included knew it was a bootleg! So I decided to make up an Wants ad and place it in Record Collector (February 2009) to see if I had a chance of getting it Then about 3 months after placing the ad I got this letter and photocopy However after talking to Roy on the phone I was able to get it for £200 including the postage costs! It was around 2012 someone was able to find out that a few guys came up with the idea of doing it! I know even now I could still sale my copy for around £300 or more by contacting the 35 that still want it on Discogs!!!
I've only never seen the 3 characters so I must ask my friend Nanki at some stage if he can send me examples with the 2 characters and translate them into English for me.
I didn't know that Face Records printed that information, I used to buy a lot of vinyl from them at one point including plenty of promos.
I’ve never dealt with them myself. Just posted the link to illustrate that this information is but a quick Google search away.
