Yeah I think Redwing was one of those bands with ex-member(s) of The New Breed in it. A similar outfit I recall was called Hawks and Eagles I think. Its possible the one armed guitar player Steve Samuels was in or around those bands over the years. He was a very friendly fellow who enjoyed a drink now and then.

I have that set and got it for very reasonable price on the bay. Keep checking!

Dang, all this '67 SF stuff has got me diggin' out some of my better 8 tracks (seemed appropriate for the timeline)! First up: debut QSM album....gotta say, Gold And Silver still holds up.

Then I think I'll have to play Seatrain...SF or not, still, a helluva band that sadly imploded. Then maybe Cold Blood. Ah, Lydia....

  16. Shouldn't it be tie-dyed? You could probably make your own far cheaper.

Sidebar on OP Art Nouveau image:

The image is from Alphonse Mucha (1860-1939) , leading artist of Art Nouveau. Much psychedelic poster art of the 1960s was directly influenced by Art Nouveau. Whenever I make cover art for San Fran 60s comp I just find some amazing Art Nouveau.

Here is an interesting flyby of the Art Nouveau-SF 60s art connection:

    Alponse Mucha was fantastic:

I love the artistic style of this era. Reminds me of great illustrators like Edmund Dulac and Maxfield Parrish.

Great video link, thanks! I had no idea about that connection. (I’m also glad to hear some other people have difficulty with legibility on those posters :))

I sometimes end up staring for minutes at the poster ... train my eyes on the names I do recognize and then hope to discover the illegible things ;) ... Great fun though :)

Great, great band. Off most people's radar. From Wales but very big in the San Fran Bay Area during the mid 70's. "Rhinos, Winos and Lunatics" is another good album from them.
