Agreed, I started risking them again just to see, and all 3 times now they've used a proper mailer, first two in a box with pillows, the third in a totally unnecessary flimsy plastic bag. But all 3 records were damage free !

The Amazon price dropped to $42.10 with free shipping. Those $40-ish prices remain as well but those will take longer to arrive. I went ahead and pulled the trigger for delivery tomorrow.
And the arrival of the Super Fly album will be my 4th and final time trusting Amazon with vinyl. Arrived in a flimsy plastic bag with zero protection. Luckily I see no damage. Extra points for the driver that laid it on the ground at the back door where it could be easily pissed on by a dog, or stepped on by a human.

My Super Fly didn’t even have a bag, and it lay on my doorstep all night as the driver didn’t ring the bell. There are a copy minor sleeve dings, probably not enough for a return.
On the flip side I just got the Tone Poet “Blue Train” today in one of those sturdy pull-tab cardboard record mailers inside a bigger box with those inflated plastic packing bags. Seems to be no rhyme or reason to it. I can count the number of times I’ve got the plastic bag on one hand. Wonder if it’s geographic and depends on your local Amazon warehouse.

Shagged, thanks! Just sampled it on Discogs. Very nice compelling compositions. Heh, despite the fact that I almost never pay much attention to singers or vocals, there is just something about his voice that is SO damn moody! And, I KNOW full well his voice is not that great. This album is a nice atmospheric li'l Bugger!
