Has anyone received their order that was placed directly with Blue Note? If so when did you place your order? Mine Order placed 7.28 Shipping notice 9.15, label created No update since
Mine is still in the same limbo. When I emailed them they just said contact them again in 48hours if the tracking doesn't update
That is what they told me last time, except wait a week. After >2 weeks no change. Then they refunded my order. My guess, more profitable to ship Amazon a 1000 bulk, let them handle, package, ship.
I’m wondering if they all went out and just weren’t scanned or something. Maybe we’ll all have a treat this afternoon! Or maybe we’ll be flooding them with emails on Thursday lol. Either way, last time I order direct from BN.
I just got an update. It departed Michigan for Pittsburgh before it's scheduled to get to me in Chicago in 6 days! They obviously didn't drop it off at the post-office until recently.
For those of you who have the 3CD box, who mastered it? Has anyone compared the sound to the AP SACD mastered by Grey-SH?
The SHM-SACD sounds great, the stereo album and all bonus outtakes are on the one disc in a standard jewel case and obi, with two booklets (one that looks like it may just duplicate the domestic 2xCD set's, and one Japanese-only text booklet)
I emailed BN this morning after getting the same shipping notification email from BN on the 15th as everyone else. My order for both Stereo and Mono was placed on July 27th. A reply was just received from BN stating the following: It looks like your package has been received by your carrier and is currently in the pre-shipment step. The most up-to-date tracking information can be found here: [my tracking number] When tracking information shows received but unavailable, it’s likely that the carrier hasn’t scanned your package. If your tracking notifications do not update in the next 48 hours, please let us know. Based on tracking finally being updated for a few folks, I’m hoping I’ll be pleasantly surprised to see movement by this afternoon. At least I’ll wait until then before going into full Karen mode!
Perhaps Joe Harley might be expected to say he prefers Stereo with the release of this new TP stereo, not sure he was saying that back with the Music Matters 33 Mono version? The fact that RVG himself in the interview quote I posted said, that although he started recording to two track they weren't working in Stereo nor trying to create a Stereo sound field, he still monitored in Mono and all the creative decisions, mix, eq etc were done on Mono and that the two track just helped him improve the Mono mix. Therefore to my mind Mono was still where he was at, how he was hearing it and how he intended it to sound, this might suggest that this is reason enough to favour the Mono versions?
Nearly every time I've ordered from Blue Note store or Udiscover I have to email them to get the damn record I paid for. It's frustrating, but one time I ended up with two copies of Speak No Evil, so that wasn't too bad.
Usually, yes. The early stereo efforts were not usually very good. However, Blue Train is a happy accident. The stereo is excellent.
I got the same run around. The carrier has not received the package. We must have rattled some cages since some folks orders are advancing. I don't mind paying a few bucks more and $8 for S&H but I expect service. I hate to say it but Amazon for me. Fast and free shipping. It's no big deal and I know CS is a thankless job. Don't BS me, just say we are swamped and behind. Just got this...strange At 11:38 it was still not scanned in MI 2 hours ago magically appeared in PGH and left for my local post office and will be here tomorrow. Maybe I'll give them another chance
Please can you give more detail about the '3 CD box'? I have checked all the usual sources but can find no sign of it. Thanks in advance
Damn Straight! Bloody record blew my NUTZ off! Well... I got better... Oh, and Joe did BOTH the mono & stereo, so I don't see where the fellow's statement above applies...
Superb The kick drum sounds like it's in the room. The sax, smooth, no breakup, not brittle Quiet vinyl, flat
uDiscover delivered a perfect copy to my doorstep today, for 23.39. A pretty good record. I should check out more of this guy’s stuff.
I was going to buy this new 2-CD set, but, if I'm being honest, I'm quite happy with this remaster: I listened to this issue the night before last and I was rather impressed with the fidelity I must say, so, at the moment, I'm content with this being the only issue I own of this album. Oh and it's damn fine one! What a lineup of musicians.
My mid-sixties mono copy along with the Tone Poet mono and stereo. I received excellent copies- no issues whatsoever. Preferring the stereo after a couple times through each.
