It looks like it was an unsuccessful attempt at adding some humour to the thread. In any case, I'm looking forward to seeing the next Bond film when it arrives.

He's 65 years old and retired. I think the producers want somebody a tad younger.

First EON needs to withdraw from creative control and creative
participation. They have to stay out of the creative process. Why?
Because they've been stupefying Bond films long enough. Better
they sit at home and count the $$ rolling in. They should simply
appoint a master craftsman writer, say Tom Stoppard for instance,
and a proven director who respect the original films to make the
new ones. Then hire an UNKNOWN actor in his late 20s, a white
male Brit with some dramatic experience, to be James Bond.
NO celebrity, NO big star. Just an actor.

This I can mostly agree with. The famous actor who folks have wanted to be Bond for several years ( there are several; Hardy, Elba, Cavill) are getting too old to carry on the character for the next decade of films they'll inevitably be asked to do. Let Bond be somebody's big break.

    Thanks for posting this link.

Barbara Broccoli is NOT evolving, that's for sure.
If you look at the films objectively, Bond was devolved in
    Casino Royale. Deconstructed and devolved.

    Let's quote some more:

Broccoli and her fellow Bond producer Michael G. Wilson have been mum on who will follow in Craig's footsteps. But they hinted that the evolution of the franchise during the Craig era will continue, such as developing his character beyond being a womanizing spy.

"Bond is evolving just as men are evolving," Broccoli said. "I don't know who's evolving at a faster pace."

Broccoli previously ruled out a female Bond, but is open to a non-white actor in the role.

"I think it will be a man because I don't think a woman should play James Bond," she told The Hollywood Reporter last year. "I believe in making characters for women and not just having women play men's roles. I don't think there are enough great roles for women, and it's very important to me that we make movies for women about women. He should be British, so British can be any [ethnicity or race]."

There's enough bullsh!t in there to fool a lot of people.
I have to agree. This franchise is doomed.

    More of the same:

Margot Robbie 'Mortified'; Blonde Tears; Bond Producers Talk Idris Elba

Bond Producers Address the Idris Elba of It All: James Bond producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson told Variety that they understand why Idris Elba says he doesn’t want to be 007. “We love Idris,” said Broccoli. “The thing is, it’s going to be a couple of years off,” she added. “And when we cast Bond, it’s a 10-, 12-year commitment. So he’s probably thinking, ‘Do I really want that thing? Not everybody wants to do that. It was hard enough getting [Daniel Craig to do it].” Plus, Wilson notes: “And he was in his early 30s at the time!” Elba is currently 50, and if the casting process won’t even hit full swing for a few years, the prospect of a Bond commitment now would find him still playing the role in his 60s.

Who Else Is In the Running?: It sounds like it’s anyone’s game at this point, but some of the internet’s favorite Bond prospects are prize-winning martial artist Tom Hardy, Regé-Jean Page, Richard Madden, Henry Golding, Henry Cavill, and even Paul Mescal.

So, that's that. The end of Idris Elba suggestions.

Remember Bond got married in On Her Majesty's Secret Service eons (pun intended) ago.

So we've already had a softer Bond that had an evolved approach towards women.

And then again in Casino Royale.

I think the level of evolution needed for the character is there, established and already complete.

Not sure they need to do too much more modification towards the character. Taking some of the love-em-and-leave-em womanizing out of the picture is probably enough in my mind.

What is the next logical step? Zero one night stands in the film? Eh. OK. These things aren't really essential to the story and really only produce one-liner moments anyway.

Any more emotional evolution and you might as well just make it a different character.

There’s no parallel universe in which it isn’t this guy:-

    Steffan Cennydd - IMDb

We didn’t know how lucky we were with a welsh bond last time. This chap’s a bit young but so was Connery in comparison to the others.

Btw, since the End of the Cold War in 1989/1990, one might say that the 'good' old rivalry between the West and the Soviet Union fell away.
Sort of. Well, that just came back with a vengeance, since Putin invaded the Ukraine.

Time for a From Russia With Love 2.0?

I never liked the fantasy stories of super villains that much. Sooo unrealistic.
FRWL was therefore IMO the last (and best) Bond movie.
Unless the new Bond has to deal with a Elon Musk gone berserk.
