Some very questionable taste here. Dismissing classic pop singles like "Echo Beach" "Total Control" and "Computer Games". Also "Games Without Frontiers" is clearly the single of the week with all due respect to early Scritti Politti and The Fall

Mi Sex had one truly great moment with "Computer Games". The band name was taken from an Ultravox song who they were huge fans of

I know Modern Talking are rubbish, but I still have a "so bad, it's good" soft spot for them. They had zero success in Australia during the 80s (not even 'Brother Louie' charted) but a radio station used to broadcast live from a Melbourne nightclub on Friday nights (circa 1987) and I first heard their songs that way. My favourite back then was 'Jet Airliner' which features a great example of Modern Talking's signature falsetto chorus.

I have a DJ friend in London who wasn't even born in 1985 but he adores 80s Euro/Italo Disco and plays it for me whenever I visit. He's reintroduced me to tracks from Modern Talking, Fancy, Ken Laszlo and Mike Mareen that I hadn't heard in 30 years. The generic eurobeats, the cheesy lyrics sung in broken English, the predictable key changes — it's terrible trash but we love it and laugh our asses off.

Suzie looked good at times and not so good at other times. I was just a pre-teen and early teen then. Yup, I loved Angie.

'Games Without Frontiers' and 'Echo Beach' - two great singles.

I like to think they both just have a wicked sense of humour.

Must be me, but I don't see a lot to excited about here. Sure, I've a few in my collection but nothing really throws itself out as a 'must-own'.
    Got these lonely few.

    07 - 08 - 04 - Cutting Crew - (I JUST) DIED IN YOUR ARMS
12 - 25 - 18 - The Psychedelic Furs - PRETTY IN PINK (the sparkier mix, not the original LP version which was a dirge)
    09 - 17 - 23 - Bruce Hornsby And The Range - THE WAY IT IS
    03 - 38 - 24 - Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark - (FOREVER) LIVE AND DIE
02 - 46 - 33 - Amazulu - MONTEGO BAY (love this! Makes you want to dance even if you're in no way a dancer!)

    14 - 01 - 04 - Berlin - TAKE MY BREATH AWAY (LOVE THEME FROM "TOP GUN")*
8 - 29 - 25 - The Beatles - TWIST AND SHOUT* (why did this chart again? Some sort of anniversary?)
    07 - 28 - 26 - Van Halen - LOVE WALKS IN**
13 - 14 - 27 - Madonna - PAPA DON'T PREACH* (This, Cyndi and Bruce Hornsby are probably the long-lasting classics in this bunch)
    04 - 40 - 30 - Cyndi Lauper - TRUE COLORS*

That Beatles' track charted owing to its being in the film Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

I met both Brian May and Anita Dobson at a wedding. My beloved & I were on the same table as them at the after-wedding dinner. I know I've mentioned before how I had to bite my lip to prevent gushing to Brian about my life-long love affair with QueenII and Sheer Heart Attack.
Thing is, we're not soap opera fans so I thought I'd have nothing to discuss with Ms Dobson. However, I found her quite engaging. I'd just seen The ****** Monologues and she'd just been in a touring production of it. Nattered for ages about that, the theatre, films etc. I came away with happy feeling that I'd spent time with her. A nice lady. She was great with our kids too.

I dug out my early EMI black-face of It's My Life two nights ago...such a brilliant album. Maybe as good as Colour of Spring in my mind now.

I am shocking for that. I'd have a list as long as my arm! At one point in EE, I must have fancied half a dozen female characters..

Tanya, Carly, Stacey, Roxie....Zoe....see, I told you.

I had eyes for Angie too, it was that student look... Eye candy was maybe thin on the ground in Brit soaps of the early 90s...

Well not all of Toyah is 64 years old, some bits of her are only a couple of years old.
She has new teeth, hence her smiling from ear to ear like Donny Osmond in every new publicity picture.
I don’t think it needs to be said what other bits are new as it is obvious, the whole premise of the Sunday podcast things seems to be to show them off.

That´s taking entertainment to a new high! Or was that low? :shh: He, he...

I almost envy. Must have been arduous to have those responses so often... But also exciting!

I am one of the boring people, as if you needed to be told. I have been in love once in my life. So far it´s lasted 43 years... Not my forte, it seems. Now you know why I like all those sentimental love songs. :agree: Crushes... Maybe one or two, but never on somebody on TV. My loss, no doubt.
