Nothing scary about turning 35, I did it 37 years ago. It was easy.

I hope not as scary as what the state of the world might be then.

Yeah, by then who knows how many remixes will remove amp hums from classic 60s songs! :bigeek:

I think this has been posted a few times in this thread already: A part of Lennon's vocal from earlier in the song was just copied and then placed at the end of the song backward.

For me, turning 37 was harder than turning 35.

At that point you are definitely no longer in the "most desirable" demographic. And you can't even fudge it... :shake:

I originally heard something like "spare a dark memory..."

Japan always seems to include printed lyrics, and if the artist doesn't provide them, then they try to transliterate them themselves. When "Rain" appeared on Japanese pressings of the Hey Jude album, the backwards lyric was interpreted as "Stare it down and nourish what comes near you." Surprisingly close except for the last word - I hear something more like ". . . what comes near if it." And that sentence almost means something...

Nah it's just the bloody internet not telling me what digital sampling that format uses. Half of the websites are only mentioning the different material part, not the fact that it is a CD/HiRes hybrid.

John’s demo brought tears to my eyes. We get two actually. He sings it differently. Not better necessarily but it’s more poignant

  16. I have to disagree, and I say this as an non-audiophile. Audiophile grow out of people obsessed with the sounds of the recording, and thus the transfers, etc. They are the people who alerted us to differences in mixes back in the day. Invaluable to have people with ears, and equipment a lot of us don’t have. I don’t always agree with their focus. As a trained audiophile, you are going to hear things I might not, and care harder around the recording itself and how it should best be translated. I get that. It’s. To me, but I get it and learn from the info shared.

Now that is something I'd like to hear.

56 yesterday. It’s really weird. I love this place explicitly because I know many are older than me, but also because there are young people and god bless them.

No new teasers yet. We just seem to have a couple members who have heard the box set early, somehow.

There was a report that take 5, which is featuring the released John's vocal performace, doesn't feature the backwards bit. That can mean that the backwards bit was dubbed later onto the reduction take 7. In that case no tape copy was needed. They could have flown in the backwards vocal onto take 7 from the original 1" four track tape (take 5).

    I’ve always heard it as
Nur schniff nur [something or other]”.

Not terribly meaningful, I’m afraid. Not yet, anyway. :)

You sure you're not listening to the German version of She Loves You backwards?
