I wouldn't be surprised if the majority of the budget was spent on that "MORE BRAINS!" skeletal zombie....
    still looks good today!

A great zombie/horror-comedy movie...and two months later we got The Re-Animator. A pair of classics to say the least.

I’m a little surprised that there’s this much love for this movie. I thought I was the only one.

Amazing what people could do with a low budget back then. People today would spend four times as much and the movie wouldn't look half as good.

I attended a sneak preview of this film and loved it. In fact, I still prefer it to Day of the Dead, which disappointed me when I first saw it way back in 1985. Day felt, if you'll forgive the pun, lifeless after the dynamism of Return, but I've since come to appreciate it, though it's definitely the least of George Romero's original trilogy.

Loved it back in the day. Watched it recently and it had lost some of its shine - too many horror comedies since, I guess. It's still a lot of fun. The scene where the skeleton pops out of the ground and .45 Grave's "Partytime" kicks in is still cool.

One of my all-time favorite horror movies... hell, maybe my favorite, period (tied only with the original Texas Chain Saw Massacre)
