I got an email from Zia Records this has been delayed a couple weeks to late Sept.

For those in US, they and Bull Moose offered it for $67 with free shipping.

When the delay was announced I cancelled my orders for the deluxe CD set with Deep Discount and for the 2 LP set with Bull Moose and ordered both from JPC.

Both are currently showing a release date of September 30th rather than December and I saved just over $24.00 compared with the previous orders (shipping to the U.S. included).

Well that sucks. They finally put a price up for this on Amazon Canada (after I bought it from import CDs and it is priced at $80CAD, with free shipping, which is about $30 less that I paid to have if send from the US. :(

Townsend music in the UK is the official artist outlet for this I believe and where I ordered the Cd / vinyl box sets bundle.
No shipping yet, release still listed as this Friday, 30th. Same date is on Amazon UK.

Ultravox - Rage In Eden - Steven Wilson Stereo Mix - CDx2 – Rough Trade

This is a new Steven Wilson Stereo Mix of Ultravox's Rage In Eden album from 1981. Taken from the deluxe CD box set release of Rage In Eden, this LP or CD version of the mix is exclusive to RSD. Like 2020's RSD SW mix of their Vienna album, the second disc contains an instrumental version of the album which is exclusive to this release.

UK distribution is for the Sept. 30th target date. Distro elsewhere is impacted by freight shipping. In the case of the US, shipping by boat to points of distribution. Hence the US date of December 2nd. According to what I heard from a member involved in the production.

A handful of first listen thoughts

    Paths and Angles sounds fantastic
The Voice work in progress is essentially an instrumental of the studio track with minor compositional changes
We Stand Alone is nearly complete - different vocals than the studio
The Thin Wall is the most incomplete to my ears - the song is mostly identical but this sounds like Conny had nothing to do with it. The emphasis on the backing track is very, very cool here. A few things buried or missing in the LP version plus the guitars sound closer to Joy Division than New Order
Live set, as expected is absolutely listenable and a nice document from what feels like the shortest album to album lapse from them
The biggest difference compared to the original mix is how much brighter the album is - it doesn't lose any of the pessimistic drive but it's absolutely more clean - in particular, the lead guitar and Cann's real drums are the most improved

Stranger Within was almost 10 minutes (!)

Can't say I noticed any alternate vocals, but the "The Thin Wall" did seem very different - there are a couple spots where the vocal echo has been removed (first at 1:40 then again at 3:00) and the balance of the ending section is different, with the guitars highlighted over the synth and backing vocal. The guitar part in the left channel starting at around 4:13 and then again 5:30 is barely audible in the original mix. I like the EQ better on the new mix as well, the original always seemed too dark to my ears. More upper-mids and highs on Midge's rhythm guitar and the drums gives it a more aggressive, immediate feel. Looking forward to the 5.1 mix!

Yeah, that's a really good description of the remix. I didn't love the Vienna remix, but this could be my preferred version - still have to do a full listen with the missing songs and how those were cleaned up

We Stand Alone is definitely unfinished vocals - he sounds really close for most of it, but the giveaway is the chorus, you can tell his inflections are ever so slightly off, and before the bridge it's without a doubt. The outro fade is more improvised, and I only noticed it so early for it being arguably the best song on the record

They have used the single versions of The Voice and The Thin Wall on the main album for some bizarre reason.

Just to clarify: Are you talking about CD1 of the boxset and do you actually own it?

The Discogs entry lists the correct times of the album versions, as does the Spotify page. They also seem to be new on YouTube (although of course substituted by the music videos in the official playlist).

I also see the single versions streaming from Tidal. I am waiting for my box set to arrive, and hopefully CD 1 will be different.

Not that i got from here Rage In Eden [Deluxe Edition], Ultravox - Qobuz but a few other people are saying the same thing unless it's just the streaming versions. Funny i looked on Discogs earlier and the track times weren't there.
