If this helps anyone trying to decide I just recently bought The Rumours with the Gold Sticker that says "Pressed At Pallas" and it IS the Gray/Hoffman cut. Both their initials KPG/SH are in the Deadwax on both sides and it sounds Incredible! In fact my friend has the 45 version and we did a shootout at his house between the two. Of course the 45 beat it but the 33 held it's ground. Just make sure it has the Gold Sticker and says "Pressed At Pallas". Also there is No mention of Canada on the Jacket.

Considering the price difference , about 5x as much for the 45’s, thinking I will probably get the 33’s myself

Reading this again after some years I'm still convinced that NO album ordered recut lacquers were cut from the master tapes, going as far back as maybe 1983 or even older.

The reels were just too messed with to be used to master an album side.

I'm amazed that I figured it all out, so many reels, songs not in the right order, and scattered between the four first generation reels, parts of songs swapped around even, short edit pieces removed to ends of reels without proper tones, notes, anything.

It took so long to figure it all out, at one point I had to rely on just the color of the actual tape and the grain pattern to see what went where. Crazy s***.

    A jigsaw puzzle from heck.

Glad I took the (unpaid) time to get it all together though; the version that Kevin and I did will never happen again..

    Hope you got one.

I have both too. And about 3000 plus other albums on vinyl. I don’t have any pop rock albums that sound better than this. And Rumours is about as perfect of an album as it gets for that genre. So, a lot of hours were unpaid but I’m old enough to know, people who care about their work to the extent you and Kevin do, aren’t doing it just for the money. No one gets paid enough to care that much. Especially working for a record label. So…on behalf of the significant number of other people that I have no doubt will agree, just know that your work is great appreciated by every one of us. And it will continue to be until we’re all gone! I would wager that’s the best thanks you could get. Thank you!

In this post-MOFI, anti-reissue, anti-audiophile environment, it’s nice to have the 45 rpm Rumours.

What, that I mastered this in my underwear? Happened all the time.

Most mastering includes underwear I would imagine.
Perhaps a small percentage of it is “only”.

I wasn’t a fan of this album back in the day, but I bought TWO of these exquisitely done versions. Just magnificent!

I do not agree with you about the "post-MOFI, anti-reissue, anti-audiophile environment", however, I love that album by Ronnie Spector

I ended up enjoying a lot of albums I used to not like only because they sounded so good when reissued. I’m not a classical guy at all, but I just got an AP Living Stereo album just to see what all the great fuss is all about.

Played the 45 version we mastered today. Sounds so darn good. Glad I put the work in to figure it all out.
