That’s pretty mean to say, that’s someone’s turntable that they’re probably very proud of. The photo is a little dark yes, but I can see it just fine, I’ve also heard this model as a friend has one and it sounds really great..
I don't mind. Anyway, if the ultimate aim of audio equipment design is to just present the music and make the components disappear, Rega seems to be taking it literally!
Jane Weaver's The Silver Globe on the Micro BL-91 today, love this record, especially side 2, just about the perfect side of music in my world, can play it over and over an embarrassing number of times, but I loved the whole album from the first listen... you are like a bird shining feathers stealing gold a nest full of treasures... she will go to desperate measures stealing gold and collecting treasures...
Looks like a pretty cool destination. I'd likely try to get the phono preamp further away from that big motor, but if it isn't picking up any noise, then maybe there's enough shielding to not worry
Playing around with tonearms and cartridges on my Thorens TD124. Short = Tokyo Sound ST900 + Ortofon SPU Long = Stax UA-3NL + Supex SD900 MKIV
That's a Grado Platinum 3 Timbre, very fine cart for older LPs. I mainly use the great (and heavy) Sorane tonearm with a couple of Ortofon SPUs. The Sorane SA-1.2 makes them sing!
maybe it's optical illusion, but the tracking angle on the stax looks quite a bit off; past being parallel to the grooves in the middle of the record... nice looking rig, tho, and cool sut... doug s.
