Post Mortem from Frontline on PBS (but Youtube as well). Doc on coroners, but made some excellent points as well that I never knew.

Just watched The Automat today and enjoyed it.

I grew up outside NYC and remember going to one around 59' or 60' as a 5 or 6 year old kid.
What a cool place it was.

Well done documentary by Lisa Hurwitz. Sad that it's time had to end later on in the 60's due to fast food, changing culture etc.

I just watched that doc. Very enjoyable.
I noticed a nice photo of Andy Warhol, John Cale and Gerard Mangela as it discusses the 60s.

Philip Noyce's "Quiet American" dvd has a 20 min doc from Sundance on 'Anatomy of a Scene', in this instance, the 1953 bombing of the Saigon square. Interesting to see the cumulative effect of those technical aspects of filmmaking when well coordinated by a director with a sense of purpose.

There was still an Automat in Manhattan in the late '80s, it features in the film Metropolitan (1990) which is a really well made film anyway.

Thanks to @JohnT for mentioning this, definitely a doc I want to see!

Frontline is a very good programme. I watched their documentary on Harvey Weinstein as a warm-up to She Said, which I'll be seeing next week.
