Does this count? The Wailers - Catch A Fire (Island UK, 1973). The top half of the Zippo lighter is a mirror image of the lower half
Apart from all the great Roger Dean and Malti Klarwein sleeves? This is memorable for a lot of reasons. None of them good but at the same time very much the time capsule ... Ohio Players on more than one occasion didn't wait for an outcome to the "what's wrong with being sexy?" debates making that Funkadelic sleeve seem positively coy by comparison. A shame that the covers are better remembered than the often rather brilliant albums they contained.
I guess most of Hipgnosis' gatefold covers are meant to be enjoyed from both sides. Nice example: The back portion shows an approaching UFO, the idea was obviously to visualise the meeting of the past (represented by the warrior) and the future (the UFO) in Wishbone's music. I also read somewhere that George Lucas took his inspiration from that warrior for his creation of Darth Vader. Not too unlikely, I'd say.
