everyone's getting that badu album i guess. 10 years ago it was in the clearance bin everywhere. what a world!
I bought The Clash and The Animals. I also bought the Sam Cooke when it was on sale for $22.99 - they all sound great! (Even if they are digital; still pretty good sounding)
But it's been done before. The 50th Anniversary edition has blue vinyl, as do some others. I count at least 6 versions on Discogs that have blue vinyl.
Yes. I sold off my sh*tty 50th version. Beautiful but noisy. This new one has the mono cover art. Hopefully uses the great RKS mastering from 2013.
Ahhh, I didn’t notice the mono cover art. Nice catch. I can’t imagine it doesn’t use the same cut. After my snarky post, now I’m tempted (even though I have the current mono pressing already)…
Last Thursday there were listings for exclusive color variants of Run The Jewels 1 and Run The Jewels 3 for December 2. Now I'm not finding either on the Target site. Anyone else see them, then or now? Update: I googled and found these links, but Target's own search isn't yielding a result. Strange. Run The Jewels - "run The Jewels" (target Exclusive, Vinyl) (black & Red) : Target Run The Jewels - Run The Jewels 3 (target Exclusive, Vinyl) (yellow & Black Gatefold) : Target
man, vglink nonsense really goofs up the target links that get shared here. after redirects, neither of these take you to where you want to be!
For what it’s worth, I was in Target tonight and got both RTJ 1 and 3. Neither were on the shelf. The app said they had one 3 and no 1s. Associate looked in the back for 3 and found three of them. She also found one of 1. Lucky me, I guess.
Interesting. I pre-ordered 1 ages ago and I got an email last week saying it's backordered till 12/16.
Time to hit up Target again. Today I found several titles on clearance. They're just mixed into the regular LP section, marked with yellow clearance tags: The White Stripes: Greatest Hits (Target exclusive with slip mat) - $8.99 Jack White: Entering Heaven Alive - marked $10.99, actually rang up at $6.59! Also saw these but didn't keep track of exact prices: Olivia Newton John: Physical Natalie Cole Tony Bennett & Lady Gaga A few others had clearance stickers but weren't really marked down much - Beach Boys Sounds Of Summer (with slip mat) - $25.49
"Limeade" version of the Grateful Dead's American Beauty up for pre-order. https://www.target.com/p/grateful-dead-american-beauty-target-exclusive-vinyl-limeade/-/A-87607476
Thanks to JasonA for the heads up! I saw the following albums bargain priced at the two Targets near me: A Beach Boys comp and the Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack were lightly discounted, around $24 each. The new Kacey Musgraves album which was around $14. All (most?) of these were under $10: Bowie - Changes - Many copies White Stripes greatest hits new Jack White Sam Cooke - Anthology - several copies new Lady Gaga new Lady Gaga and TonyBennett new Miranda Lambert new Halsey Olivia Newton-John - Let's Get Physical new Dolly Parton West Side Story (2021) soundtrack a rap album I don't remember the name of new Mumford solo album (??) At the first Target I went to the discounted albums were on an endcap in the electronics department that I missed the first time around. At the second Target they were on the bottom row of the albums section. imnsho, the best deals are the Sam Cooke, White Stripes and Bowie albums. But I already have those. I got the new Jack White (for $6.99), the new Halsey, West Side Story, and uh, the Olivia Newton-John.
Found a couple of these on sale at my local store too: Marcus Mumford - s/t $7.79 Lady Gaga - Dawn of Chromatica $8.54 Miranda Lambert - Palomino $9.59 Ed Sheeran - = $6.89 Jack White - Entering Heaven Alive $6.59 Checked the Sam Cooke but it didn't ring up on sale. They also had the ONJ Physical album on sale, but I wasn't intereted. And they had the Kids See Ghosts album (duo of Kid Cudi and Kanye West) on sale too, but I won't support Kanye for personal reasons.
I got four or five of the Beatles stereo LPs from Target about a year after they were released. About $7 each on clearance. That was a good stretch of buying vinyl from Target.
My local Target had all the clearance LPs in a milk crate on the bottom shelf. Nothing fancy, but it made them easy to locate. I picked up the new Jack White LP and The White Stripes Greatest Hits LPs. Not bad for under $15!
Mine had two shelves, three rows each. Most of the above plus the latest Abbey Road remix, Guardians of the Galaxy, Kanye’s Donda, and, randomly, a reissue of Claire Hamill’s Abracadabra.
