Can anyone shed any light on this? I had one up for sale. Got a message that it was no longer sellable on Discogs and that "for reasons of confidentiality we cannot provide further details." Both CD box sets have been blocked too. *edit: I note, as per the comment below, that the CD sets are bootlegs, but the vinyl is certainly not. The Beatles - The Collection
It’s from the Capitol master with the fake stereo tracks; but why should that affect the selling if the box?
Discogs is a strange place to buy or sell from. Just looked it up on Discogs, sure enough a legitimate MOFI box set, blocked from selling there.
The outside of the box uses the standard "Original Master Recording", referring to 1st generation tapes IIRC.
I can't find the quote now, but if memory serves me correctly, @Steve Hoffman stated Magical Mystery Tour used a fifth (?) generation tape. Somebody correct me if I'm off.

It’s Discogs sometimes they understand what they are selling, sometimes they don’t. The real question is who wants to do the work to correct them? No good deed goes unpunished.
Either there's a mistake or it could be a third-party involved that made Discogs stop any sales for certain releases. I own an LP that is a legitimate product but the label asked Discogs to stop all sales of their products on their site.
Confidentiality reasons my foot. It was released 40 years ago (approx), and all of sudden it's contraband? Is it a job requirement for all Discogs employees to be complete pinheads? The absence of transparency for a release like this in completely unacceptable. They should be spammed on all social media platforms until they cough up the truth.
It has to be a mistake. They're certainly not in the business of prohibiting the sale of legitimate releases. I see via the Discogs forum that a few may be filing a support request about it. I'll certainly be keeping my eye on it too because that's a ridiculous goof up.
It might partially due to the lawsuit. If MMT is not from the original master tape then it might be why Discogs has pulled it playing it safe. I don't think it has anything to do with the illegal Beatles CD's out there.
Interestingly, before I posted here on SHF, I posted the same query under the Discogs listing. My query has been removed.
