You mean this one: Discogs Forum - Legitimate Beatles MFSL boxset banned from selling? Still there if you are TheHut. No one here or there can tell you why it happened but as I mentioned in my post, it's probably an error. Submitting a support request for review as it's likely it was just caught up in the blocking of the unauthorised CD sets.
Certainly not uncommon to see over the top reactions on here. Chances are, it's just an admin error, something which SHF isn't free of either is it? I'd be very surprise if there was a copyright claim made against that release like others that have been banned from the marketplace. But feel free to waste your time spamming all social media platforms if you wish. Not only would they never even see it, they don't even read their own forums, if they did, they'd ignore it all anyway.
I read your post and was thinking "What lawsuit?" and then I remembered those class action MOFI suits. Is that what you are referring to? Discogs admins probably wouldn't do anything unless someone reported it. I suppose it's possible one of the crazies that is part of the lawsuit is behind a complaint via their lawyer. Discogs has a habit of not fighting these spurious claims rather than spending the money to tell them all to f off. But I doubt it as there are still loads of MOFI releases available to be purchased. You'd think if someone that was part of the lawsuit complained it would result in all MOFI items being gone and not just one that was released before the current owners released anything. The reason why people are mentioning the CDs out there is because those are prohibited and so it's possible that an error was made and the ban was put on the master release release rather than just the cds. That's really the only connection people are making between the difference format entries. An easy way to tell if that was the case would be to check if the cds were banned before the lp set was. But there's no way to check that unless someone who owned the cd set could tell us at what point it was banned.
When you added your legit LP copy did you notice if the CD copies were already banned from the marketplace?
Not uncommon. While folks post queries/comments like yours regularly, that section is for reviews. They will remove comments that aren't.
I just checked and it appears the block was reversed. Kind of a pain for anyone who was selling it though. The Beatles - The Collection
Maybe someone saw that the MFSL Beatles box was mastered all analog and assumed it must be a phony MoFi product.
Believe it or not - using one browser shows it for sale, and the other browser tells me it can't be sold. They is evil!
I wrote to Discogs support the other day. Maybe others did, too. Looks the vinyl is unblocked now. Nope, that was me.
Fair enough. What can I say? It's below freezing weather around here, non-stop snow, and Discogs has done a lot lately to annoy me. Sadly, 100% true. They really have become one of those "too big to care" entities.
Not sure they were ever not too big to care. Discogs hasn't exactly been on top of customer service...EVER.
