I used to use dealoz.com for this but they stopped supporting music a while ago. Is there an easy way or do you have to manually check Discogs, eBay, Amazon, etc?
Right now the lowest price on Discogs for the Eric Clapton Unplugged SACD is $49.23 and it's $29.99 at Music Direct: Eric Clapton - Unplugged Eric Clapton - Unplugged (Numbered Hybrid SACD) Just sayin.
Guessing Music Direct won't be charging you a ridiculous shipping charge they seem like the best purchasing choice.
Yeah, that's what I do. I search up the item on the usual websites and then just buy the cheapest version I can find.
I have a terrible habit of checking Discogs, then Ebay, then going with the lowest only to find out it was much cheaper on the label's actual site! I should have a giant dent in my head due to how many times I've hit it going 'doh.'
discogs is just so touch and go, you find a nice CD at a nice price and the shipping will be outrageous, or you find an affordable one and it is not in good shape or is not available when you go to buy it. ebay is OK, but you got to watch condition. amazon, only as a last resort and only if you have $25 in your cart to get free shipping. i think all 3 charge taxes.
Check out completeds at eBay for Japanese albums from Japanese dealers......really cheap. Too bad the postage stinks. Imagine all those $3-$10 in the USPS delivery to stores in the U.S. with no postage.
This is not the fault of the sellers, but due to increased costs implemented by the postal systems. Before the tracking/insurance paranoia started I used to be able to send a CD to the USA untracked for $3.50. Now this same service costs US buyers $9.00 and nearly double this for tracking and insurance to satisfy Paypal's coverage.
They are great to do business with. Used items are generally in better condition than described. Packaging is first rate and shipping is quick.
Yes! If it's a somewhat recent release (and I mean that loosely) it always pays to check the label's site and the artist's Bandcamp page if they have one. Over the years I've found dozens of examples of discs selling for $40-$50 on Ebay & Discogs, yet the label has them still available at regular price. And artists themselves are often sitting on copies long after they're sold out from the label & distributors. I recently grabbed a Japanese import direct from the artist in America for $10 when the only other place I could find it was Discogs for $25+. Not a bad deal

How do people cope, with no pictures of the item on Discogs? Sorry, but much of that website seems stuck in like 2005.
