Closest thing to an old series I've rewatched is Alias and, I've just started it. Jennifer Garner (career making role) and Victor Garber were so perfectly cast.... No offense to those re-watching older series but there's sooooo much good stuff from 2000 on I don't have time to re-watch our old favourites, i.e., Columbo, All In The Family, One Day At A Time, Monty Python, Man From Uncle, Twilight Zone, Mary Tyler Moore Show, Sanford and Son, The Jeffersons, X Files, etc..
Alias was great. It also starred Bradley Cooper. I watched it when it was on ABC originally. It's also currently on Amazon Prime for free. And if you have Disney+ or Apple TV, it's on those. I think it counts as an old TV show, since it's more than 20 years old (2001-2006)!
Well, tbf, Alias' first cupla seasons are 20+ years old. Anyway, it's the oldest thing I have an interest in re-watching, maybe HBO's first biggie, Carnivale. The series we loved in the 60s-90s haven't aged particularly well imho.
I've been watching The Bionic Woman as I do my workout on my NordicTrack Ski Machine. The episodes are about 50 minutes on the DVD, perfect for my workout. Lindsay Wagner is very chipper and perky. While obviously quite similar to the Six Million Dollar Man shows, the Bionic Woman has a lighter, more humorous tone, although that might not have been their original intention. For example, Jaime has to catch a plane soon but her apartment is a mess, so in mere seconds, she does the dishes, sweeps the floor and straightens out the mess before leaving. Very inspiring....
I just finished season 11 of Dallas. The ratings started to slide in this season. The plots were slow and were drawn out for the season, the business stuff with Westar taking over Ewing Oil was confusing (Who owns Westar stock now? Why is it going down? Why is it going up now?) and the romantic drama just wasn't that interesting like Clayton Farlow getting the hots for some British girl which leads to... murder? Lots of male characters showed up to appeal to younger audiences but it was hard to care about them. The first third of the season was wasted by searching for Pam when we knew Victoria Principal wasn't in the cast anymore. Worst of all, they recycled plots from previous seasons. J.R. and Sue Ellen are fighting for custody of John Ross again? Someone is going to take custody of Christopher from Bobby again? And of course J.R. gets shot again! I guess they thought after the "Bobby's not dead anymore" season (which was pretty good) that they didn't have to try as hard.
