too many! what a drag it seems all the better movies are being neglected in the home video world...I own some of these on DVD...
love that! yes it is strange there's no BD...their stuff usually shows up on home video...damn streaming.: (
There’s quite a few.I would like a decent version of The Keep and I am convinced that we will never see The Abyss on Blu-Ray or 4K much less True Lies.
Trick or Treat had been released on blu-ray in Germany at least. Trick or Treat Blu-ray (DigiBook) (Germany)
Thank you. From what I've heard The Alamo will probably never be on blu-ray. Evidently the original elements are in very poor condition.
Yep - someone ripped the video and uploaded it to YouTube, for anyone who wants to watch it. Unfortunately, it was a limited edition, and the audio track is awful.
Keep reading, it says this too: The fine folks at The Digital Bits – which has been following this story even longer than us – has now revealed that Cameron was asked about the releases of both films at this year’s Critics’ Choice Awards, and he’s confirmed that not only is The Abyss coming, but True Lies as well. The pair will both be on 4K disc – and presumably Blu-ray too – in “the second half of 2023”.
High Society with Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Grace Kelly why are Warner's not releasing it on Blu-ray.
The Beatles very first concert in America! An absolutely HISTORIC EVENT and its not on official blu-ray??!! In fact it's treated like any regular concert it's all over the internet in inferior quality as I've posted below. This historic event should get the royal treatment in PICTURE and SOUND! I think it's a despicable shame!
Pink Floyd: The Wall Pink Floyd Live in Pompeii The Ref The Keep Agreed on U2:3-D Still a handful of 3-D movies I'd like in 3-D on blu: Spacehunter, Hondo, Starchaser all have flat blu-ray releases.
It was a videotaped event. I don't think it can look and sound any better than what was recorded. I believe the master used was the one described here (link below). THE SOURCE - Other Tapes - Washington Coliseum Februrary 11, 1964 That said, I agree that it should be on Blu-Ray.
Off Beat (1986) Off Beat (1986) - IMDb It's only available on VHS, and it's not even available on DVD or Blu-Ray.
With TODAY'S TECH it most certainly can look and sound better! I hear the tech Peter Jackson used for the Get Back film is a game changer.
I just hope they make sure to encode it in 60fps, so that it feels like a live broadcast. I blame the transition from analog to digital on giving videotaped footage a film look.
UNCOUNTABLE concert DVDs that were shot in HD, then dumbed to to SD for a cheaper release, included the one recently released by a local band. I was at the gig, feature in it amonst the crowd, and saw the cameras being used. The singer admitted to it! I bought the DVD but asked politely for the HD files......no response but ''yeah we have them''.
It's a travesty that King Vidor's silent classic The Crowd has never gotten a DVD release, let alone a Blu-ray.
Barfly is all-region Australian, but a bit pricey. Paper Moon has a region-locked UK release and probably no US release because Ryan Oneal.....you can read what his kids think of him on his wiki page. I thought the Beatles DC had some ownership thing where they can stream it but not sell it. There are still 2 Oscar best pictures still MIA on Blu from 80-90 years ago. Not crazy about the trend of streaming-only projects. I don't mind waiting 1-2 years.
I worked on it (every version) and it was released in some countries on Blu-ray. I could tell some interesting stories, but I'm keeping my mouth shut. Suffice it to say, it looks pretty good, mainly because of cinematographer Jimmy Muro.
Happiness It is a messed up movie, but it is also very funny in parts. The DVD has probably the worst picture quality of any DVD I have ever seen. If the sequel "Life During Wartime" can get a Criterion Blu-Ray, then Happiness should at least get a regular Blu-Ray.
