And I once saw Martin Chambers playing drums for McEnroe's band. Not sure they ever made it into the studio, but couldn't not mention this after you'd named JM.

Recently listened to Michael Chapman: Fully Qualified Survivor, and if I remember correctly that's Mick Robson making his studio debut on there.

When he lived in Australia he produced literally hundreds of Aussie artists and even played drums on Split Enz' s Message to My Girl.

I've heard "The Boys Of Summer" by Don Henley probably hundreds, if not thousands of times in my life; and found out only a couple of years ago that Mike Campbell plays lead guitar.

    Owning it!

David Bowie sings background vocals on the Stones' "It's Only Rock and Roll (But I Like It)", and Kenny Jones (Faces) plays drums.

Blockhead Norman Watt-Roy plays bass on The Clash's "The Magnificent Seven" and not Paul Simonen. Simonen also does not play at all on Cut the Crap, it's Noman again.

  24. Stevie Wonder plays harmonica on a lot of songs. Most surprising, at least to me,
Eurythmics "There Must Be an Angel (Playing with My heart)"
    John Denver's "If I Ever"
    NSYNC's "Something Like You"
    Sting's "Brand New Day"
James Taylor's "Don't Be Sad 'Cause Your Sun is Down"
Elton John's "I Guess That's Why They Call It the Blues"

He also wrote two songs on Jeff Beck's Blow By Blow album and plays clavinet on "Thelonius".
He wrote the Beach Boys "I Do Love You" and plays harmonica, piano, bass and drums.
