It’s my favorite Stones record. BTW, I always found the digital masterings lacking bass, so I got MoFi controversial LP. Sounds good to my ears, but I know a lot of people dislike that much bass
Not photos. The Art of Sebastian Krüger This guy's work is spooky good. No, not Mick. His American counterpart - Steven Tyler. He does both caricatures and realistic. Both are fantastic. The realistic are like WTF - is that a photo?
Sticky is my favorite Stones album. If someone claims Let it Bleed, Beggars, or Exile is better, I won't debate it. If someone were to claim Tatoo You is better, I would recommend they get their head examined.
These kinds of threads amuse me. The OP picks a classic album, realizes he doesn't care for it anymore, and starts a thread looking for like-minded individuals. Think about it - you can do that with ANY ALBUM! There's ALWAYS going to be people who agree with you. Blonde on Blonde? Sgt Pepper's? Are You Experienced? Born to Run? London Calling? ANY album. It proves nothing.
It is one of a handful of albums where I do not hit the skip button. Can't say the same for any one side of Exile on Main Street.
not going to lie. i never play side 2. havnt played side 2 in 10 years. side 1 i play 5 or 10 times a year. its my fav stones album.
Thanks for telling me about the poll. Sticky at 104...the leader Exile at 103...the chaser Can’t be wrong either way, looks like!
To me, YGTM is like an addendum for side one. It wasn’t needed but its inclusion emphasizes the atmosphere of the time period in their lives well as that of the album itself.
The only bad thing I can say about Sticky Fingers is you had to quarantine it from the rest of your Stones albums lest the zipper does its worst.
You lost me when you used 'Sway' and 'dulled' in the same sentence. One of the greatest albums of all time for good reason.
There is nothing to prove. As for the five albums you listed I never cared for 'Are You Experienced'. Not big on Hendrix.
Taste is a funny thing. I don't expect everyone to like broccoli (but it might be good for them anyway). Is Black And Blue more nutritious than It's Only Rock And Roll? Yeah, but not everyone cares about nutrition. Can't You Hear Me Knockin' has too much fat on it for my tastes. The first two and a half minutes are smoking though. Most music has a shelf life. Sweet Virginia is timeless.
That album could be comprised of recorded farts, but the inclusion of Sister Morphine would still make it perfect.
Selecting Warhol’s cover design was genius. Can there be a run of straight releases as good as Beggars thru Exile? No. Despite the elephant in the SHF room. Who here would sell an original NM player if it’s on your shelf. Not me.
