The Asylum Albums, Part I (1972-1975) 5x LP box set
$166 (not the cheapest it's been, but it is nosediving so might be worth keeping an eye if you're after a copy)

I just took a speculative punt on this mob - is this the dodgy seller that has cropped up here as unfulfilling?

    Yes.

    Don't waste your time.
I put in $600 worth last time and the entire order was cancelled.

There is not one positive feedback from a record buyer in their list - all are books.
Instead, there are now more than 15% of their buyers leaving one star reviews: ie. all our orders were cancelled too due to a 'technical issue'. :unhunh:

5 mins wasted at this point which is within budget.
I just went for the heavily reduced Enter The Wu Tang.
That crops up from time to time cheap so they may... have a copy to hand.
    Will report back.

    Excellent points Aussie pressing

Thirty years ago, consumers were junking their vinyl to buy overpriced CDs, now they are throwing out CDs to buy expensive vinyl - Major record company owners must be pinching themselves to make sure it's not a dream.

And just like when CDs first hit the market, quality control of vinyl is largely nonexistent - and we as consumers must accept some responsibly - we are happy that a record is flat and has no obvious flaws - but this should be a given, rather than a hope when we put a new record on our turntable.

With some many new vinyl customers happy to hand over big bucks for crap, nothing will change.

I’m certainly enjoying a lot more CDs these days with the crazy price of vinyl. But in saying that I still get sucked into RSD every year! And buy audiophile & special vinyl releases (like new Debbie Harry Kookoo album even though I have awesome sounding CD of it) …so I still partake in these crazy vinyl prices. Collecting is addictive.

Speaking of crazy prices…I am currently playing a maxi CD single of Kylie Minogue’s Butterfly that according to Discogs if worth a couple of hundred dollars!! I don’t even remember where I got it. I just looked it up out of curiosity.

Makes me think …what else do I have in my collection that is worth money?

You can sort your Discogs collection by the median selling price on the desktop website. It’s very enlightening!

I try that. I wish I had everything listed but for me it's pretty much only the tip of the iceberg.

I scan the barcode of the every item I buy as soon as I get it, that keeps my Discogs collection up to date.
Worth doing for sure. That way whenever I'm in a shop and I see something I wanted I can quickly double check if I already have it.

Arrived this evening and it's the LP. :)
GZ Media pressing in the most desperately thin abrasive inner sleeve. Had to tear it apart to take the record out to minimise potential scratches on removal.

    Quick update.
At the same time I ordered the record, I also messaged the seller and said i'd also like the by some others and listed the cat #s.
I also noted the negative reviews saying it was a scam and asked if i'd ever see them.
And the next day all the vinyl had been removed from the shopfront.

Yeah, we call them Dodgy Brothers. They show up occasionally with their unrealistic prices and then nick off as quickly as they came.

    I don't think they're malicious, just dumb.

Just found out the Broderick Smith died a few days ago, one of my favorite Aussie singer/songwriters. Thanked him once for putting me on to Judee Sill, when he recorded her song Crayon Angels.
