Apparently you and @GentleSenator must've been Siamese Twins separated at birth... Fortunately, you got most of the brains...
This is a phenomenal deal on a very solid mid-period Guided by Voices album. FYI, the presentation of this on vinyl is pretty fantastic. It replicates the original CD packaging, which had a fold-out top and bottom. It's pretty cool. As far as the complaint about stretching it to a double, it is a 48 minute album. That said, I too prefer things to be on a single disc whenever possible.
Pressing quality is decent, like pretty much all of the recent GBV records. Whomever they use, the quality seems consistent.
Great price! Interesting that they show the regular price as $139.99. I don’t believe it was ever close to that price - wasn’t it $100?
Eh. Almost 80 for a digital cut of an album that has sold the most of all time. I would say get an original for 20 or less.
I’d bought the SACD and share the view of others in the Thriller thread (and J. Valin in TAS) that the mix is clearer, at the expense of the life being sucked out of the sound. Too clinical.
this conversation really doesn't belong in this thread, but i will say that these releases from mofi are about more than just the source of the cuts. unclear as to whether you listen to vinyl or cds or what though as your profile is completely empty.
The Tom Petty Live at the Fillmore 4-CD set finally sees a price drop. Now $36.91. https://www.amazon.com/Live-Fillmor...28-ae8d-7f3ade67a81d&pd_rd_i=B0BFJXBYV1&psc=1
You could very well be right, but the rules here post that if you are going to give your thoughts about the sound quality of a pressing/release, you do need to list your equipment profile. We are all avidly interested anyway in what each other has Cheers!
I doubt this one will be around forever: EELS Blinking Lights and Other Revelations Amazon.com Mine was delivered this morning - beautiful violet vinyl - looks amazing. Great price for a triple!
Is that not a great price for a 3-LP box? Could seem that way to me, as this was out of print and the last vinyl version went for around $90 at the time.
